How Does It Effect Us - 3/22/2010

Galatians 6:2 (Amplified Bible) Bear (endure, carry) one another's burdens and troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete what is lacking [in your obedience to it].   How does this scripture apply to us and to our prayer life?

  • I don't know them.  There is an Evan and Tammy Stoops in the phonebook on Flying Circle Drive.  I have been here since 1981, but Gillette is now a town of 40,000; so it keeps growing every year.
  • Thanks for the tip Paul I''l contact them.
  • Being from Oklahoma... Could you tell me who first comes to mind regarding 1 Tim 2:1-6 praying for all those in authority. We are seeking a Volunteer State Prayer Leader for OK who is likely located near OK City for the National Governors' Prayer Team. Our website is www.NGPT.org. I would be happy to talk you or someone you know more about it. Tom Walker tomwalker@GovernorsPrayerTeam.org 317-409-6858
  • Paul, I'm just thankful that you and Delores are okay! Your message on Wed., the 6th, didn't show up on my computer until this morning. I'm sorry I didn't even think of giving you my phone # until while I was at Taste Island. You may call me at 580-916-5220 if you want to when you are in Durant. By the way, do you know Eric Dennis? He, too, lives in Kingston and is very nice. He pastors a church but I can't remember the name of the church.
  • I just now re-read your comment and saw to meet around Noon or a little afternoon. Goodnight, now.
  • Paul, I knew you didn't forget and just figured you have been busy. I would love to meet you and Delores at Taste Island on Thurs., April 8. I may have my daughter come with me. What time? I haven't driven since my foot surgery and my foot is still swollen, so I hope I can get shoes of some kind on my feet to wear to church tomorrow, (Easter).
  • What a bessing of contentment! Maybe the weather was "sour" but, obviously, the Son was present! The half-day of prayer and prayer retreats I've been a part of/lead have always been a blessing - and a surprise for those attending the first time. They wonder how they will fill the day, and discover God fills it for them. (You could offer a prayer that I get back to my monthly, personal day-of-prayer habit!)
  • Blessings, new friend! And praying you see God's best in your day today! How was the prayer retreat?
  • Yes, that is another possibility. I can drive myself to Taste Island in Durant. I am a member of Silo Baptist Church in Durant, but it is out in Silo. Our pastor is Buddy Johnson. At the time when I moved to Durant from KY, my son-in-law was the Associate Pastor. I had served on a pastoral staff in KY for several years and when God released me from there, my mother and I moved to Durant. I have a sister and some of her family here, as well as my youngest daughter and her family.
  • Thanks, Paul, for your reply. Prayer is such a vital work of a follower of Jesus Christ. What a privilege God has given to us to communicate with Him. God bless you and your wife. I like going to BG's Catch for their catfish, etc. and who knows sometime when my kids bring me back there, you and your wife may also be there. :-)
