PTAP: Ramadan Begins

Significantly spiritual dreams and visions are not uncommon for Muslims to have during Ramadan. Pray that the Father would pour Himself out to our friends through the supernatural as they participate in Ramadan. Pray for believers in the Arabian Gulf to be open to the Spirit's leading as they interact and engage with locals.

At sunset, there is a meal called Iftar that signifies the breaking of the fast.  After sunset prayers, another meal called Suhoor occurs.  During Ramadan, these meals are significant and are often a time for big gatherings of family/friends.  Pray that believers would have opportunities to attend Iftar or Suhoor meals with local friends and that they would be able to connect with, and build relationship with, their families.  Pray for walls to come down between locals and expats.

Ramadan is a month where cousins tend to have increased focus and discipline towards the Koran and to their prayers. There are often reports of locals feeling a nearness to God because of the good things they are doing during this month.  Pray that there would be a lingering dissatisfaction and an overall feeling of being unfulfilled with the relationship they have with God during Ramadan. Pray that their increased time in the Koran would breed questions and critical thinking.

PTAP: 2018 Prayer for Hajj.

HAJJ PRAYER 2018

Dear Friend of the Arabian Peninsula,

On 19-21 August 2018, PTAP (Praying Through the Arabian Peninsula) is asking for 100,000 people from around the world to join us in Prayer & Fasting for the two million Muslims going on the Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. These are required acts of service for all Muslims (conditions apply to those that are impoverished or in poor health). The city of Mecca is the center of the entire Muslim world.  It is the place where the Hajj is performed and the place where all Muslims direct their 5x daily prayers.  As a consequence of the heightened religious activity, there are significant barriers that prevent the gospel from spreading to these people at this time.

However, our God knows no barriers!  There are testimonies of Muslims performing the Hajj in Mecca and encountering God – through receiving a digital version of the Bible, through Dreams & Visions, through encounters with Christians during their journey. And so, we desire to gather together a dedicated body of Christians to stand in the gap and to fast and pray for this monumental event - for God to do something truly miraculous, something only He can do.

Would you join us in this effort as well as spread the word about this prayer and fasting event?

We have created three core resources for you:

A Hajj prayer promo video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaLq9B14wBM) - This is designed to introduce this event and invite others to join us for these three days of prayer and fasting.

Hajj Prayer guides and a Hajj prayer video (https://prayforap.com/hajj.html) - We created a helpful 4-page prayer guide that has been translated into several languages (including Korean, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, German, and Portugese).  There is also a corresponding video to watch.

Please forward the above resources through your spheres of influence and also feel free to edit as you feel led.  And similarly, when it comes to the fasting element, feel free to fast you feel led - one meal, one day, all three days, individually, as a group, etc.

Our one request is that you let us know an estimate of how many people in your spheres of influence prayed and also the country where they prayed during these three days. Please send your estimates and any spiritual insights you have gleaned from this time of prayer and fasting to <pray4ptap@gmail.com>.

See Act 13:1-3 for a wonderful illustration of how fasting became instrumental in the laying hold of God for the shaping of world-changing ministry. We long to see many of the 2 million Muslims performing the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in August 2018 to encounter Jesus. Many Blessings,

The Bible's Built-In Prayer Guide

If you're like me, you sometimes find yourself stuck trying to think of something to pray about.  While we're surrounded by people and matters to pray about, there are just some times when the mind gets stuck, and prayer can seemingly grind to a halt.

Recently, I was preparing a prayer guide for a prayer meeting focusing on Revival in the Church.  I was reading Romans 12, when quickly the Holy Spirit began to point out prayer points from within the text.  They began leaping off of the page right before my eyes!  Here are a few that caught my attention:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment...

Verses 9-16 have a wealth of prayer points packed in as well!

Some of these highlighted points can be prayed personally, while others can be prayed for the Church, a nation, community, or another group of people (either within or outside of the Church).

Here are a few prayer examples from the highlighted text above:

Lord, (from verse 1) I desire to be holy and pleasing to You everyday.  Help me to offer my body as a living sacrifice to You today.  I want to yield my agenda, priorities, and life to Your wisdom, love, grace, and guidance.  Please fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit, so that I may be increasingly sensitive to Your heart, and more obedient to Your promptings and will.

(From verse 2)- Father, I thank You for your presence in my life.  Thank You, too, for giving me Your Word, your Spirit, and the ability to read and take to heart what Your Word instructs.  I want to be able to confidently test and approve Your good and pleasing will.  Help transform my mind from this world's thinking into a mind that's renewed in Your ways of thinking.  You are my desire, Lord.  I love You dearly!  Grow my love for you deeper, still!

Verse 3- Father, I confess that I'm all too eager to think of myself more highly than I ought.  I want to think I'm smarter, more clever, faster, and better trained than others, but it's simply not true.  Thank you for quickly humbling me at times when I become puffed up in those ways of thinking or acting.  Help me to accurately see myself through Your eyes, so that I don't become the center of focus in my life, but so that You become and remain the center.  You are my all-in-all.

A way of praying verse 3 for the Church could look something like this:

Father, as a part of your Bride, the Church, I'm prone to thinking of myself more highly than I should.  And sadly, Father, I'm not alone in thinking with that mindset.  Many have been turned away from Christ due to encounters with Christians who have been prideful, hurtful, and sometimes just rude.  These are not attributes of You, Jesus; but many, including me, have given off that impression to others.  Please forgive me, and those in the Church who have hindered others from knowing You accurately, truthfully, and lovingly.  Please redeem those encounters, and help those of us within the Church to think of ourselves with sober judgment, not more highly than we ought.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

One of the benefits of prayer, is that God has given us His Holy Spirit to help us pray.  As we look at the Word of God, the Spirit can help us pray the Scripture back to God in ways in which honor God, and also change us, and others, from the inside, out.  The Spirit and the Word can also help us get unstuck when we feel caught at a dead end in prayer.

Try this way of praying.  Before you read the Word of God, or pray, ask God to fill and quicken you with His Holy Spirit.  He will powerfully meet you where you're at, and may lead you deeper into His Word than you ever expected or imagined!

Continue in prayer,

Rob Griepentrog

Prayers for the End Times

9651027269?profile=original

Developing an arsenal of prayer is critical, especially in the end times. We need to be ready to pray scriptural prayers that build our faith in specific areas and keep us immune to the enemy's lies.

With this in mind, I occasionally condense scriptures on specific topics into simple prayers that I can pray daily. This week, the Lord impressed on me the need to pray the verses from 2 Thessalonians against deception, a key tactic of the Antichrist in the end times. Deception leads to hopelessness, but the Lord has given us specific promises of hope to carry us through difficult days.

Take time today to print or download Prayers for the End Times
in the Subscriber Resource Library. It's free with your subscription to His Inscriptions. I pray you'll begin to use it daily to inoculate yourself against the fears and anxieties that come from the enemy's lies!

As Muslims pray and fast during Ramadan, we pray for them.
Ramadan is June 6 - July 5, 2016
Introduction
Every year most Muslims fast for a month from sunrise to sunset. Muslims follow the lunar calendar. In 2016, Ramadan likely will begin June 6 and end on July 5
Christians serving in the Arab Muslim world are asking you to pray specifically during this time frame as Muslims take the month to fast.

Muslims eat at night during Ramadan, but this fast is a challenge and many take it as a spiritual time. We pray Muslims will come to know Jesus Christ during this month focused on prayer and fasting.

In this prayer guide, you will find suggested Scriptures to pray through. Many prayer points are from Christians living in each country, and there are prayers of blessing for these nations.

Isaiah 58:1-12 is a great Scripture to read to understand more about fasting.

This prayer guide was created by OM. The prayer guide is free and you are welcome to share it.

PTAP will send out an email on the dates the countries in our region overlap with the larger prayer guide.

The Power of the Gospel  -  Weekly Update May 4, 2016

As the summer months come, pray for those who are living in the low lands and along the sea in a country where there have been frequent power outages as well as lack of supplies. Pray that their basic needs will be met even in the heat of the summer. Pray that fighting will stop in their country and that rebuilding will begin.

"Will you help me go to America?", asked a young Yemeni man who left his country to work in another. He sees no future, as he waits tables in a restaurant. He now lives in a country where there are many believers in Christ. Pray that he will hear the Truth and experience the Hope which Christ offers.

Please pray for believers who are currently working on military bases in this one Arabian Peninsula country.  What an opportunity to shine the light of Christ among the most powerful people in these restricted places.  Pray for divine appointments and opportunities to share the Good News with those who are ready to receive it.  Pray that the various forms of the Good News that have already been spoken would take root and bear fruit in God's good timing!

Pray against the fear of man since the military can be intimidating.  Pray that the fear of God would rule in the believers' hearts and that they would be protected by the full armor of God.

Pray for the believers around the Arabian Peninsula who are struggling with how to share their faith in places where they could face much opposition for doing so. Pray that God will give them wisdom in conversations and boldness at the right moments.

Pray against a spirit of fear or timidity. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile."    - Romans 1:16
