FAKE NEWS

Some of you are familiar with Michael Cernovich. Somebody is familiar with him. During just one month last year Michael had 83 million twitter views. It was Michael who reported that Hillary Clinton had Parkinson’s Disease during the recent presidential race. When confronted on 60 Minutes, Michael said he still believed this and other things he wrote even though sources he listed denied they had ever spoken to him.

The 60 Minutes reporter emphasized that the problem of fake news primarily on social media was just as rampant from liberal sources as from conservative. Of course, the worst thing about the prominence of such fake news is that many people will believe the reports simply because they support a certain point of view. The prevalence of such public deception will divide America even more.

What can Believers do about this?  First, we must take Paul's warning seriously for ourselves.

"Test everything. Hold firmly to the good. Flee from all appearance of evil."

We can pray for super-political, supernatural discernment for ourselves.

There may well be times when we need to point out lies and such dubious sources of information even when they seem to agree with our politics.

Most of all we need to pray for our nation and our world in days of such evil and deception.

PTAP: Prayer for Yemen amid War

We pray for grace and strength for those in the community who have lost love ones in the civil war in Yemen, for strength for all the mothers as they continue with their responsibilities even in the middle of war times, for them to nurture and teach their children in the community in the ways of the Lord, being an example of strength and grace to their children.
We pray for those who teach, mentor and disciple regularly with the new believers, to seek the Lord as they prepare their lessons as they meet regularly. We pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to their hearts as they discover the Word of God.
Also, pray for those organizing retreats to hear the voice of the Lord, study, and prepare for the different activities, lessons and fellowships, that they will be building trust, and strengthening each other.
Pray for the leadership team as they make difficult decisions. Pray for the peace of God to be their guide as they make those decisions. Pray for them to discern the true followers, from those who may want to harm them. Pray against the plans of the enemy against the lives of the community families. Pray to send help to the leaders to support them, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
Pray for the situation to improve, for those who have the power to stop the war to come to a peace term. Pray for the different villages where the conflict has increased. Pray for the protection of their families.
Pray for provision of food and water where the help has not arrived. Pray that the Lord would remove any obstacles from the roads for supplies to be able to reach their community, for them to have their needs met. Pray for the different AID projects, water, food, electricity, communication, education, transportation, media, and we pray for those who are providing, giving, organizing, leading, and working in the different projects. May the Lord multiply resources, for each and every project.
Pray for people not to lose hope but to put their eyes on the Lord, the only one that can solve conflicts, hunger, and any lack. Instead, pray that they would use that energy to work, to study, to help and encourage one another.
We pray for those who are seeking the Lord, to meet regularly with those who speak Truth and to open their spiritual eyes to understand, believe and make decisions to follow Him.
Pray for those who fear as their faith weakens, to focus on the Lord and nothing else. Pray that the Presence of God will be more real than the reality the community is experiencing through the war.
Pray Psalm 27:3-4 - "Though an army besiege me my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask form the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple"
Pray that the different believers will be able to meet once again, to strengthen each other, and encourage each other and most important to pray for one another, and to pray for the community of believers.
Pray 1 Corinthians 12 for the church--that there may not be divisions in the body of Christ, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
Pray for a country that continues to be plagued by war. Starvation is a reality to many who live there. Pray especially for those who don't know where their next meal will come from. Ask that embargos will be lifted and that food will be brought to those who need it. Pray for crops to grow well and for farmers to be able to get food to market. Ask for God's mercy on this country.

PTAP: Ramadan Prayer for Kuwait

Ramadan Prayer
As Muslims pray and fast during Ramadan, we pray for them.
June 13, 2016
Kuwait
"'Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.' After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly."  -Acts 4:29-31 (NIV)
Pray for the believers in Kuwait to speak with boldness. Pray the Lord would continue to heal, especially Muslims.  Pray that recognized signs and wonders would be taking place in Jesus' name. Pray God would "shake" His places of prayer and worship. Pray God would fill local believers in Kuwait with the Holy Spirit.

Kuwait is a divided society. There is a large conservative Salafist population that is constantly at odds with the government. The Salafists previously controlled the elected Parliament, but have been marginalized politically more recently. Pray for the government of Kuwait. Pray that in this climate of division, that Kuwaitis would be open to seek the truth of the Bible.

One ministry worker explains: We have a sense that a real breakthrough with Kuwaitis is near. Many are open and we have had the opportunity to pray for many for healing and for freedom from demonic oppression. The handful of Kuwaiti believers, need to be strengthened.

Bless You Lord for sending rain to Kuwait and allowing this to nourish the land.  Bless them with the ability to know how to live in these evil days of Daesh (IS) and to stand against it.  Bless the small number of Kuwaiti believers with fellowship together and with a joy in You, Lord.
The Lord bless you, Kuwait, and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. (Prayer based on Numbers 6:24-26, the Holy Bible)

PTAP: Fragrance of Christ

PRAYER
Sadly, two local believers from a Muslim back ground went to court against one another in our country over a money issue.  It should not have been. Now that the issue is decided, please pray that their hearts will be softened, and humility and forgiveness will be born again between them.

A second cyclone hit the Island of Socotra a few weeks ago, causing even more destruction and death. Pray for the people as they rebuild their homes and their lives. Pray that food and supplies will be flown into the island to help them. Pray that tragedy will stop.

"Even in the midst of fear, God gave me peace," said a Believer from a war torn country. Praise God that He continues to help those who love Him, even when the world around them is crumbling. Pray that many more will come to know Him

TESTIMONY
Why do some non-believers wish to keep hanging around believers?  Is there something of the Spirit of God that woos them?  Please pray for Abdulmohsen, who has heard much of the gospel, and expressed fear of being identified with  believers, yet still calls on those who would speak of Christ to him.

PTAP: Yemeni Ramadan

Yemen, Arabian Peninsula Day 24 - July 11, 2015 As Muslims are praying and fasting during Ramadan, we pray for them.

God did this [war, hardship] so that they [Yemeni] would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, Christians focused on Yemen are asking us to pray Acts 17:27 and Psalm 22:27 with them.

There are four major factions fighting each other in Yemen and there are outside forces also part of the uprisings. The situation changes daily. Pray for the establishment of stability, law and order all across the country.

Pray for the groups of believers in two main cities and for the scattered ones in others that they might be established in Christ. Pray that local believers would become family to one another, and be forgiving and including one another. Pray that God would help them focus on being trustworthy as opposed to trusting, that they would desire to give honor rather than seek it, and that they would count others as more important than themselves.

Pray that the foreign workers would live out and model to local believers how to love one another. Pray that workers inside Yemen would set an example by modeling a kingdom lifestyle, that they would show wisdom to know when to stay and when to leave, and that they would have love for the other workers.

Pray that workers outside Yemen can rest in God's sovereignty rather than in their frustration at not being able to go into Yemen. Source: Christians in Yemen

As the new Shiite Houthi rebels from the north of Yemen dissolved the government of Yemen, their supporters waved banners saying; "Death to America, death to Israel, a curse on the Jews and a victory to Islam." According to AP writer Ahmed Al-Haj, this new rebel government faces one of the most violent al-Qaeda groups anywhere in the world in southern Yemen. Pray for the country of Yemen. With such words of death and cursing, they do not know the judgment they will face. Pray that God will move Yemen away from civil war, involving Shiite, Sunni, al-Qaeda, and other tribes, and into a place of peace (The Bible, Philippians 4:7). Patriot Praying or Kingdom Praying

Patriot Praying or Kingdom Praying

Recently, I came across an article in the Connector, published by Intercessors for America.  It was titled ‘A Warning from Macedonia’.  Some of you, who have are on the Intercessors for America mailing list, may have seen it.

It raises an interesting question—are we trying to view control—possibly by encouraging adherence to our particular belief by a political candidate or party as the answer to our problems?  That involves the thinking, that the solution we think is best—is what God wants.

There is a lot to think about in that statement. –Maybe we are asking God to fix our problems—when we should be asking for God’s presence and power to be demonstrated in the church. --  The real question here is does God just want to fix our problems—or does he want us to know Him?

Our country has great division in it.  We are a people that may be too diverse in our thinking for our own good.  The result of such thinking that does not focus on getting to know the Lord Jesus.  What would happen if we were to focus on asking for God’s presence?

Rather than offer suggestions—I would like to open this discussion up to others.  It you have experience the Lord’s presence—what change has it brought?

Maybe you differ with the focus that we should invite the presence of God.  Tell us why.

Finally-what does it take to replace nationalistic type praying with God’s Kingdom Perspective.
