ReCenter Christ

Begin Again With Jesus at the Center

Where is your focus, passion, concern, or question about recentering Christ in your life, ministry, congregation, leadership, or mission?

  • Reimagine.Network begins here because reimagining is not merely about new methods, better programs, or creative strategies.

It begins with Christ.

  • Before we rethink prayer, discipleship, evangelism, church, mission, compassion, cities, leadership, or the future of ministry, we must ask a more foundational question:

Is Christ truly at the center?

  • Not merely named. Not merely assumed. Not merely attached to our plans after they are already formed.
  • But welcomed, consulted, obeyed, followed, and glorified in every ministry, meeting, decision, relationship, and mission.

Why This Matters

Many churches and ministries are busy, sincere, and committed. Yet activity can drift from intimacy. Programs can outpace prayer. Strategy can replace surrender. Familiar language about Jesus can remain in place even while actual dependence on Jesus quietly weakens.

To ReCenter Christ is to pause long enough to ask:

  • Is Christ praised in our gatherings?
  • Is Christ presiding over our decisions?
  • Is Christ preceding us in mission?
  • Is Christ present in our relationships, conversations, and daily obedience?
  • Are we asking the questions Jesus would have us ask?
  • Are we willing to revise what we are doing if Christ redirects us?

Reimagining without recentering can become renovation ("restoring, repairing") without repentance ("change the way you think".

ReCentering Christ brings reimagining back to its proper source.

The ReCenter Christ Practice

A simple pathway for Christ-centered ministry reflection:

Invite

Invite Christ to interrupt assumptions, agendas, preferences, and plans.

Ask:  Lord Jesus, what are we assuming that we have not submitted to You?

Invoke

Invoke Christ’s presence, wisdom, authority, and direction before decisions are made.

Ask:  Lord Jesus, what are You saying to us before we act?

Investigate

Investigate motives, methods, outcomes, and ministry habits in the light of Christ.

Ask:  Lord Jesus, what needs to be reexamined, corrected, recovered, or reimagined?

Involve

Involve Christ in the actual process, not merely in the opening prayer.

Ask:  Lord Jesus, how do we follow You from discernment into obedience?

Scripture

Are we using Scripture to support our assumptions, or allowing Scripture to examine and reshape them?

Explore: Scripture — #ReExamineSCRIPTURE

Evangelism

Are we promoting a method, defending a system, or bearing witness to the living Christ?

Explore: ReformatEVANGELISM

Church

Are we protecting a structure, maintaining a system, or becoming a people through whom Christ is present and active?

Is compassion an optional ministry department, or an expression of Christ’s mercy through His people?

Explore: Compassion — #ReFocusCOMPASSION

Cities

Are we merely located in a city, or are we learning to seek Christ’s mission in our neighborhoods and communities?

Explore: Cities — #ReEngageCITIES

Leadership

Are leaders primarily managing activity, or discerning and facilitating Christ-centered obedience?

Use With Your Team

This hub can be used for:

  • Staff meetings
  • Leadership retreats
  • Seminar/Training
  • Prayer gatherings
  • Ministry planning sessions
  • Church board discernment
  • Small group discussion
  • Personal reflection
  • Sermon preparation

Ask your team:

  1. Where have we assumed Christ’s approval without seeking Christ’s direction?
  2. What ministry activity needs to be paused, prayed over, or reexamined?
  3. Where are we asking efficiency questions when we should be asking obedience questions?
  4. What would change if Christ truly presided over this meeting, ministry, or mission?
  5. What is one next act of obedience we can take?

Curator’s Note

ReCenter Christ is not one topic among many on Reimagine.Network.

It is the center of gravity.

Every pathway on this site — prayer, discipleship, Scripture, evangelism, church, compassion, cities, leadership, mission, formation, and future-facing conversation — must return here.

Because if Christ is not central, reimagining can easily become rearranging.

But when Christ is praised, presiding, preceding, and present, reimagining becomes discernment.

And discernment becomes obedience.

Find your question.
     Ask. Seek. Knock.
          ReCenter Christ.
               Then reimagine the way forward.
