children (11)

Children are a gift from the Lord and parents want the best for their children. Thankfully, the wealth of the oil-rich countries in the Arabian Peninsula has helped children not to be in want. Unfortunately, it has also created a generation of boys and girls who struggle with health issues due to unhealthy fast foods and a sedentary lifestyle. Childhood obesity and diabetes are on the rise at an alarming rate. In contrast, children in Yemen are starving because of the effects of civil war. "Save the Children" reports that about 130 children could easily die each day from starvation and illness.
More information on the children of the Arabian Peninsula can be found in the link at the bottom of this blog.
and in this video:
Prayer:
Dear Lord, we pray for the children in the AP who are suffering because of the excesses in their lives. We pray that they will get the help they need to be physically disciplined with exercise and healthy eating. We especially pray for the children of Yemen who desperately need food and medicine. Oh God, have mercy on them! Even more importantly, we pray that those with excess and those who have nothing will hear about your great love for them. May they hear the Gospel of the grace of Jesus Christ and embrace the forgiveness of sins and the eternal life which you offer.

PRAYING FOR YOUR CHILDREN

How often do you pray for your children or grandchildren? I once heard Dee Duke say he was committed to pray for his daughter, and each of his children, everyday of their lives. Most of us come pretty close to this without making a commitment. How do you pray for your offspring? Are you asking God for insight on what and how to pray for them?

Many years ago now, I witnessed a clandestined baptism in a bathtub in small apartment in a city in China. Several of us crowded in to see the joyful event. As the candidate stood up, water pouring from his clothes someone said, “Stop! Does anyone have a prophetic word about our new brother at his baptism?” Although no one seemed to have a word from God concerning the new convert, I thought the question was appropriate. God certainly has great plans to work in the life of every new believer. And simply asking the question ignited a spirit of expectancy in the crowded room. Who knew what God was planning to do through the life of His new child?

Hebrews 11:23 God tells us something very interesting about one of the greatest people who ever lived.

“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.”

This always strikes me as funny. Can you imagine the parents of Moses peering at their newborn child? Suddenly his mother says, “He is red and wrinkled. Throw him in the river!”

I remember waiting through the night in the nervous father's waiting room in a hospital. It was after 3:00 A.M. when a nurse stepped into the room and told me I was a father, but I could not see my wife and daughter until they had moved them back to the hospital room.

But as a pastor I knew my way around the hospital. I made my way to a place where they would have to pass on their way to the room. When the bed came rolling round the corner I had our daughter in my arms before the nurse was able to speak. And she was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

But I don't believe the scripture refers to physical or sentimental beauty here. Stephen clarifies this in his sermon in Acts 7 where he says the child was beautiful in God's sight. It seems his parents got a glimpse of what God saw in the life of Moses.

My children are all grown now with careers and families of their own. But I still pray for them. And I ask God to show me what He is seeing in their futures so I can be part of what He plans for them in my prayers.

INTERCEDING FOR OUR CHILDREN

I slipped into her room knowing where I was going but not absolutely sure I would not step on a noisy toy in the dark. I knelt by her bed and with my eyes adjusting to the darkness I could see her peaceful face asleep against the White linen pillow slip. Waves of wonder, thankfulness and incredible hope washed over me. But I was not there to revel in sentiment. I was there to pray. What was I to pray for my precious daughter?

As I pen these words she is no longer seven or eight. Those years have long since fled. She now has a seven year old of her own that she, and I too, pray for every day. In later years my daughter admitted that she sometimes was not quite asleep when I came in to pray. But she pretended so she could hear me pray for her.

I don't remember all that I asked of God for my children. But I do know this. The trials they faced, the temptations they had to overcome were much worse than I ever dreamed. And that should inform what I pray for my granddaughter, what we pray for our children. Does anyone one believe the uncertainty of our future has decreased in these days?

I think the most important thing I can do is simply pray, not knowing what to pray for. We are thrown in desperation onto God's intercession for our children. There are a number children, mostly family members, for whom I am making a concerted effort to lift in prayer every day of their lives. I am convinced that I need God to intercede for them. I can't know what they will face. But I am also confident that He will be sufficient whatever the enemy throws their way.

When I began this post I had several things in mind to suggest we pray for our children. I pray for them to have a hold on truth in a world that has replaced certainty for desire and inclinations. I pray they will be delivered from temptation that will come crashing down upon them. And I will ask that they be used in ways that I cannot imagine. But I will have to trust specifics to God. I cry out for our Lord to intercede in their lives.

Train Up a Child- and Yourself

Recently, some friends celebrated the birth of their first child, a son.  While praying for the newborn, I felt impressed to ask the Lord for His thoughts on the birth.  The question/answer He gave me challenged my usual way of thinking.

"Have you considered that this newborn baby may likely become your peer-in-Christ one day?"
Wow!  Fast-forward some short 12-25 years from now, and this newborn will become a peer of some type!  That's difficult to think about while looking at a newborn tightly snuggled in his blankets, but it's very true!

If that baby is prayed for, trained up in God's Word & ways, and the Holy Spirit turns his heart toward the Lord's in the form of a personal relationship with Him, this boy will become a spiritual peer of yours and mine.  Depending upon how worldly or Christ-focused he becomes will factor in to his maturation in Christ and to what degree he will likely serve Him and others.

Training Up a Child

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. -Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
There are many ways to teach, train, and model faith to children, but one thing I believe is absolutely necessary for a child's maturation is training a child to pray!

Herein lies some challenges.

Do you pray for your children, grandchildren, or the children of others?  How do you pray for them if/when you do?  Do you ever model prayer to them (so that they may see how they too can pray)?  How well have you been personally trained in order to train a child (future peer) in prayer?

Shopping Out Responsibility

You know, the training of children and youth to seek, follow, relate to, and pursue God is not only for trained specialists.  It is each of our responsibilities.  In the proverb mentioned above, there's no mention of "Only take your child to a youth pastor, a specialized prayer warrior, a missions specialist, etc. to train him/her in the way they should go (or grow)."  While these type of Christian leaders should be helpful to go to for instruction, assistance, and guidance; the full responsibility and joy of helping a child to mature spiritually should not be shopped out only to Christian leaders.  That responsibility is upon each parent, grandparent, Christ-centered neighbor, and friend.  We're all involved in this together!

Each of us is called to train up children in the way they should go- whether or not you have a "heart" or passion to work with children inside or outside of a church setting.  They will very soon become our peers (Christian or non-Christian)!

What if I've Never Been Trained Myself?

In Matthew 10:24-25, Jesus said, "The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.  It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters..."

A child will not learn beyond what their teacher teaches them.
I've spoken with many adults who lament that their parents, grandparents, teachers, pastors, or spiritual leaders never taught them how to personally pray, or pray with confidence.  Most are not out to assess blame, but to state the need within their own hearts and lives.  How can one train another (especially a child) if they've never been trained or lack confidence themselves?

It's not too late.  All is not lost- for you, your children, grandchildren, or other future peers.

If you find yourself in a position where you feel you could benefit from training or growth in your prayer life, contact OnSite.  We desire to help you grow closer in relationship with God through reading and applying Scripture in your day-to-day life, worshiping and praying from the Word of God, praying with your spouse and/or children, and in other simple, practical ways.

Household Salvation Prayer

God has been stirring up a burden in my wife, Julie and me, for our many unsaved family members. We’ve also heard this from other Christian friends we know as well. This is a clear indicator that the Holy Spirit is about to be poured out upon all flesh in these last days before tribulation comes upon the whole world. I believe this is our “hour of opportunity”—an open window to pray like never before with the burden of the Lord for our lost family members and to prophetically proclaim Household Salvation, even as Joshua did in Joshua 24:15 when he declared, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”!

It’s time for Christian parents, whether still together, or a single mom or single dad, to have daily devotions with their children. A reading from the Bible along with a family prayer will do wonders for the children. It will ground them in the fear of the Lord and in a sense of divine purpose for their lives even at an early age. Fathers are the priest of their home and they are responsible before God to bring up their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. It is also the joy and honour of single moms to instill the truth of God’s word into their children and God will be their husband and a Father to the children. It cannot be stressed enough that when you get this priority right, God can begin to move in your situation to bring forth Household Salvation.

There are two main passages in the Bible that support the scriptural principle of Household Salvation—the first one is Exodus 12:3 which says,“Speak  unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, they shall take to them every man a lamb, a lamb for a house”. And when the Death Angel came through Egypt, he passed over every Hebrew house that had the blood of a lamb applied, and the entire family inside were saved. The harlot Rahab in Joshua 2 is another example of household salvation where her entire family was spared death because of her faith. The second passage is in Acts16 where Paul and Silas were miraculously released from prison and prevented the jailer from taking his own life. In desperation, he cried out to Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house”. It was God's desire to save, not this man only, but all of his family. So the promise included his house.

Your prayer and intercession breaks the grip of the enemy upon your loved one. It softens the ground of their heart to receive God’s mercy. It awakens in them a sense of conviction that they need to get right with God. That’s exactly how we all got saved—because someone was praying.

We are a vital part of the Holy Spirit’s “last call” for men and women to repent before Christ comes for His Bride! The devil is not happy with us praying for our loved ones who are held captive by him, so be prepared for a fight as you begin to stand in the gap, but know that God stands with you to strengthen you in the fiercest warfare ever fought on planet earth. You can expect your loved ones to react in a negative and even angry manner initially, but do not be disheartened—that is a sure sign that God is working. Keep up the praying and stand your ground and see the salvation of the Lord! Here are four basic points to assist you in knowing how to pray more effectively for your loved ones.

POINT #1. Pray with CONFIDENCE—this is the ASSURANCE that God hears your prayer!  1John 5:14 tells us, “this is the confidence that we have in Him, for if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” We also know according to 2Peter 3:9 that “God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” That includes your loved ones! So pray in faith and boldness knowing that you are praying according to God’s will for your unsaved family. Household salvation is always God’s will.

POINT #2. Pray with COMMAND—this is the imparted AUTHORITY that we have in Christ, according to 2Corinthians 10:4-5 for the “pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, (arguments) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” Command the enemy to release your loved one from his grip of deception, apathy and human reasoning.

POINT #3. Pray for CONVICTION—this is the God-aroused AWARENESS in your loved one’s soul of their need for repentance and godly sorrow that works salvation. How does this happen? Through intercessory prayer that removes the spiritual blinders from their eyes and awakens them to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. No one can come to Christ on their own accord until they are first drawn by the Spirit. This happens when you pray for hot conviction on their sinful heart. Remember that Ephesians 6:12 tells us that  we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

POINT #4. Pray for COMPASSION—this is the unconditional ACCEPTANCE of who your loved one is, regardless of their ungodly lifestyle. No matter what they have done, they are a still a soul in need of salvation. Matthew 9:36 tells us that,“When Jesus saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd”. Lost sheep without a Shepherd. Let’s put ourselves in their shoes and let’s remember where we came from and what our lives used to be like before Jesus, our Good Shepherd, rescued us from sin and destruction, when old things passed away and all things became new. While not condoning their sin, your loving acceptance of them will work more powerfully upon their heart than a thousand sermons. Leave the preaching to others who God will bring into their lives to witness to them through your prayers of compassion.

At the time that I was preparing this article, the reality of Household Salvation Prayer hit home full force to Julie and me, when we received the tragic news of two sudden deaths in our family involving a head on collision. A father and son that we will never see again on this earth. They won’t be at family gatherings anymore at Christmas time and weddings and special occasions. Death is so final and that’s why the Holy Spirit is sounding an urgent plea to bring our loved ones to the throne of grace while there is still time, where God can extend mercy and grace in their lives toward Household Salvation. Jesus stands poised with the Lamb’s Book of Life opened, ready to record your loved ones’ names in its eternal pages, and when the roll is called up yonder, they’ll be there!

So Easy, a Child Could Do It

Actually, my title is misleading. When it comes to prayer, children much more often seem to “get it” better than adults do. When it comes to prayer, we would probably be more accurate to say, “So easy, an adult can do it.” But I’m only a few sentences in and I’m swerving off topic already. Let me get to my point.

This summer my church’s prayer ministry is teaching a series on prayer in children’s church. We’re teaching the kids everything from the basics (prayer equals relationship with God, the Lord’s Prayer, and intercession, to more advanced (for adults anyhow—maybe not for children!) concepts like listening prayer, perseverance, and inner-healing prayer. I’ve been amazed and encouraged by how easily some of these kids put into practice what they are learning—with faith, earnestness, vulnerability and boldness, no less!

Take, for instance, the little girl who has been praying for a long time about a friend who is mean to her. She told me that at first all she asked God to do was to “make her nicer.” But as she persisted in prayer, she started to realize some things. She realized that other little girl might be nicer if she knew Jesus! So she started praying that her friend would come to know Jesus. But then she realized that her friend might not even have heard very much about Jesus, so she started praying that she would read the Bible so she could get to know Jesus.

Over time, as she persevered in prayer and let God reshape her prayers, her prayers became more mature and others-focused. She told me her prayers are not so “greedy” any more.

It took me many years to learn that persevering in prayer does not mean praying the same (often self-focused) request over and over, day in and day out. Now I realize that part of God’s work is to shape me and my prayers into conformity with His character and plans. I do that by listening to Him, asking questions, listening some more, and hanging in there, even when God seems to be taking a long time. But this little girl already almost intuitively understands these critical truths.

So I have a thought: What if, after we’re done teaching the prayer series to the kids in children’s church, they come and teach the adults to pray in the adult service? Maybe they could make it simple enough that even we adults could do it!

Got Kids? Pray First, Open Mouth Second

9651006274?profile=originalIt’s been said that the family that prays together, stays together—but do you know just how true that really is? Seriously! A 1993 Gallup poll revealed that among married couples who attend church together regularly, the divorce rate is one out of two.  How sad. That’s the same statistic as for marriages anywhere. But get this: among couples who pray together daily, the divorce rate is one out of 1,153. [i]What a difference!

One of the best gifts a couple can give their children (and each other) is the gift of a strong marriage and family life knit together through prayer. Prayer builds unity and intimacy. We become intimate to whom we pray, for whom we pray, and with whom we pray. Prayer is the key to unlocking extraordinary blessings for children and families the way a key unlocks a gate.

Years ago, my husband Doug came up with a slogan for our family that, in our house, prayer should always be “the first response, not a last resort.” I’d go so far to say that prayer has not only been our lifeline to heaven (and sometimes to sanity!), but it’s also been our greatest and most valued parenting tool.

What that's meant for this mom, specifically, has been to make every effort to pray first, open mouth second. I've had to work on it even harder as my kids have grown and become adults.  More often than not, my role is not to fix, not to correct, not to express an opinion … but to pray.  And then step back and trust God. (Yes, hard to do I know. But He always comes through and I’ve learned to trust Him.)

Proverbs 31: 27 says, “She watches over the affairs of her household.” I skipped merrily over that verse for years until one day I just happened to read it at the same time as I was reading elsewhere in the Bible that day. Isaiah 62:6-7 says, “I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest.”

That jumped out at me. I’m a word person. Both roots of those words—watches and watchman—have similar meanings, “to peer into the distance, observe, watch; to hedge about (as with thorns), guard, protect, attend to”[ii] They can also be translated “lookout” or “doorkeeper.”[iii]

How very cool.  I realized way back then that prayer is one of the most powerful roles a mother can play in her children’s lives. So much more can be accomplished for my kids from my knees than from my mouth! Correction, instruction, suggestions, and advice are all very well and good—and necessary.  But years of experience tell me (and I know many other praying moms who will agree with me) that some of the most powerful breakthroughs I’ve seen with my children have been when I prayed instead of only trying to fix a situation with natural means.

My friend Cindy has a sign posted in her family room, where she can see it every day, that says PRAY BIG. I love it.  I think it's the perfect mom-slogan. :-)

Have you PRAYED for your kids today?

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise– in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?   Psalms 56:3-4 NIV

What are you afraid of?  Be honest before God and ask Him to replace your fear with praise.  Trust Him.  He has been so faithful.

Now think about the kids you are responsible for each day.  What are they afraid of?

  • Physical abuse?
  • Sexual abuse?
  • Being left alone
  • Not having enough to eat?
  • Moving . . . again?
  • Parents splitting up?

I pray that today you can give them stability – perhaps the only stability they have in their life.  I pray that you can be sensitive to needs – even when you don’t know what they are.  I pray that you will allow the Lord to replace YOUR fears with praise and trust.

The God of Daniel

Luke 21:15:

“For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist”.

Daniel 1:8-9:

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs”.

There was a supernatural ability that allowed Daniel to have knowledge, skill and wisdom. Knowledge, skill and wisdom are the things that you need, to help you get to the top. The kind that your friends and enemies cannot contend or compare with. I pray that, that will be your lot in the Name of Jesus.

In 1998, we had a programme dedicated to teachers. It was a deliverance programme organised to address the poverty of teachers. We prayed the prayers for knowledge, skill and wisdom on that day. A teacher came with her son who is a pilot. She had seven children who still depended on her. This woman had all the problems in the world. She could not ‘make ends meet’ at the end of the month and had to borrow money from her subordinates, even though she was the Vice Principal of her school. Her children were grown and were university graduates, but depended on her. One of them is a pilot and was working with a local airline but it was as if he was not working at all. During the deliverance programme they both prayed fervently on that day.

After a while, there was an advertisement in the Newspapers, that an American airline was recruiting pilots. The young man applied and he was invited to an interview. His performance impressed the airline and he was recruited immediately. When he heard the good news, he fainted. He was given a ten-year contract worth millions of dollars and was given thousands of Dollars to pay off the company he was working with. This job changed his life and that of the members of his family. His mother came to show me the keys to the jeep he bought for her and narrated how ‘power changed hands’ in their lives. He bought her a house and all she needed, and he went to the U.S.A. to assume his post as pilot.

That is what happens when there is a supernatural knowledge and skill imparted into your life. The God of Daniel is still the same today. If you want Him to bestow upon you, the anointing for skill, wisdom and knowledge, He is ready to do it. The God of Daniel is the One you will find in Daniel 1:17. He reveals the truth to His children, through dreams and revelations.

The God of Daniel is the God of Divine Revelation.

Daniel 1:17:

“As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams”.

He can reveal to you, before an interview, all the questions that you will be asked and you will know all the secrets before you get there. Since the beginning of the history of the world, there has never been a man or woman, who has the ability to have divine dreams, who ever failed, but the problem is this; instead of having divine dreams these days, Christians are seeing themselves, being pursued by masquerades in their dreams. They are being harassed by spirit husbands or wives and all sorts of terrible dreams. The God of Daniel is the One, Who is able to set aside, all these terrible dreams and replace them with night visions and revelations.

Beloved, I want you to understand this very well the God of Daniel is the God of revelation. I came from a very poor family; so poor that, Daddy would complain that the soup Mummy prepared was not good enough, forgetting that it was the amount of money he gave her, that determined the ingredients she bought. It was that bad; so, when I got born again I began to pray and God began to show me certain things and I made up my mind, that I will not be poor. You must know where you are coming from so that you can work hard, to get to where you are going. Many people who are supposed to be discreet in what they do, are loud, thus the enemy finds his way into their life. Maybe nobody knows them on the street before, but the day they throw a party and lavish money on people, those who did not know them, would know that they have money to flaunt. I knew where I was coming from and so, I was able to pray and work hard. Later, I got a scholarship to travel abroad. The ticket, school fees, everything was given to me. I knew that if I made noise about it, I would probably not go. I kept silent and prepared. It was on the day I was travelling, that people saw me in my suit, with my suitcase. Sometimes, we need to be discrete, so as not to expose our secrets to the enemy.

During my stay in England, I worked hard and one day my supervisor advised that I should take a break and go to Nigeria on holiday. He persistently told me to take a break. One night, I had a dream, where I saw myself at the Ikeja Airport. Our flight to London was announced and I looked round, but could not find the exit to the tarmac. Eventually I found it, but by the time I got to the tarmac, the aeroplane had taken off and I was left behind. That dream made me to know, that I should not go home so, I told my supervisor that I would not go. Some Nigerian students went and during their stay in Nigeria, there was a ‘Coup d’ Etat’. All borders and airports were closed and no one could travel out. By the time they got back, some of them had missed examinations, some failed woefully. Some could not go back to England because their sponsors were killed in the ‘Coup d’ Etat’ and that marked the end of their career. I could have fallen into that category too. You need divine visions to sort out your life.

The God of Daniel is the God of sovereign power.

Daniel 2:21:

“And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise and knowledge to them that know understanding”.

He is the God, who rules nations; He has the power to remove a king, and replace him with another one. He has the power to crush the pride of earthly rulers. He does not mind giving the sack to anyone whose position is hindering the progress of His children. Today, the strongman that constitutes a hindrance to your breakthrough shall be bound and your breakthroughs shall be released in the Name of Jesus.

I met a young Nigerian in England. I preached to him and he always made fun of me. He was a First Class Material. He cleared his Master Degree with a distinction and he got ready to leave. We all bade him bye. After a few days, I received a letter, which had the etiquette of the maximum prison on the enveloped. I read it and found out that it was that young man. He asked me to come to the prison, to pay him a visit. He asked me to buy a few things and bring for him. He said he realised that what I was telling him was the truth. I made up my mind that I would not go, for fear of being arrested as complice. I put the letter somewhere and the Lord talked to me expressly, that I should go to the prison to see the young man.

When I got there, he burst into tears, lamenting that if he had listened to me, he would not have been in prison. He said he got born again there and had been preaching to the inmates about Jesus, that they only made fun of him. I prayed with him, he confessed his sins to the Lord and we asked God to intervene in his situation. When I got back to town, I informed other brethren and we started to pray. On the day he was taken to court, we were in the court room, praying silently in tongues.

The judge was very aggressive he promised to deal treacherously with him. We had to call on the God of Daniel; we asked for a replacement of the judge, with a more lenient person. At the next hearing, it was another judge that presided over the case. The new judge looked at the brother and asked if it was true that he bagged a First Class Honours Degree in Nigeria, and that he got a Distinction in Masters Degree in England. The brother answered in the affirmative. The judge then said, for an intelligent person to steal money, he had to be mad; therefore, he would not jail him in England, but repatriate him to Nigeria. We knew that the brother was not mad; we knew that the God of Daniel was at work.

The God of Daniel is the God of secrets.

Daniel 2:22:

“He revealeth the deep and secret things: He knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with Him”.

He is the God that reveals secrets. All the secrets of the universe are known to God. All the past, present and future are known to God. He can tell the destinies of nations. He can tell you, what will happen in the next five or six years. If there is any conspiracy against you, God can show you the secret. God can make you discover a witchcraft meeting and you will hear their discussions so that you can counter their plans.

As you are there right now, there is a secret about your life, that you would need to know. Immediately you know it, your life will explode. Find out what it is.

Many years ago, we preached a message about destiny and prosperity. A woman was there and when she got home, she prayed fervently. She was learned, had a job, but was very poor. The Lord drew her attention to the piece of land behind her house, and told her in a clear voice, to start planting vegetables there. She thought it was the devil that was making a denigrating proposal to her. She bound the voice in anger because she had a Master’s Degree in Education. The Lord made her to know that He was the One speaking and she complied. She started the vegetable farm and it was as if the whole town was waiting for her. They abandoned every other vegetable and bought hers. It got to an embarrassing stage where nobody else could sell vegetables until hers, finished. Within one year, this teacher that used to be poor, had enough money to build a house with proceeds from vegetable- farming. I pray that the Lord will reveal to you, the secrets that will move your life forward.

The God of Daniel is the God of deliverance.

Daniel 6:20-22:

“And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel: “O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?” Then said Daniel unto the king: “O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before Him innocence was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt”.

Immediately Daniel got into the Lion’s den, the lions recognised him as the son of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Lions do not eat lions. So they did not touch him.

One day, a friend’s wife was travelling in a Luxurious bus. Suddenly, one of the passengers asked the driver to stop for him to ease himself. The driver stopped and someone came to the woman, to say that a man at the back wanted to see her that he was her husband’s classmate at school. The woman got up to go and see the person. A few seconds later, a trailer ran into the Luxurious bus and all the people sitting at the front where the woman got up from, perished. The amazing part of the story is the fact that the woman could not see the person who came to call her to the back. That must have been God’s angel of deliverance that came to call her out of danger.

The God of Daniel is the God of signs and wonders.

Daniel 6:26-27:

“I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end. He delivereth and rescueth, and He worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions”.

A sister got married and on the wedding night, she refused the traditional ‘pouring of water’ on her feet. The groom’s mother got angry and promised to show her ‘pepper’. That night, the bride had a dream, where she saw her mother-in-law dip her hand into her stomach and pulled out her womb. She went to the back of their house and nailed the womb to the wall. Although, this sister was born again, she did not know anything about spiritual warfare. She remembered having the dream but did not know that it could have any implication on her. She discovered that she could not get pregnant, even though medical tests and scans could not detect anything wrong with her. She was childless for 16 years. The Lord brought her to MFM and she started to pray fire prayers. One night, she had a dream, where she saw her mother-in-law come into the house, with her womb and she collected it. In real life, the mother-in-law died many years before then. That was how the sister got her breakthrough. She got pregnant and now has children.

I know that the God of Daniel shall visit you today. However, if you are reading this message and you have not yet surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, I would like you to take that decision, right there where you are. You must be born again, to be a partaker of the blessing of the God of Daniel. Why do not you take that decision today? Right there where you are, the Lord is with you and wants you to come to Him. All you need do is acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner, that you cannot approach God in your sinful state. Repent of your sins right there where you are, confess your sins to Him; name them one by one and ask Him to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Claim the redemptive power in the Blood of Jesus. Renounce the world of sin and the devil. Jesus is waiting for you. Let today be the day when power will change hands in your life and the miracle of God will take root in your life. God will bless you as you take that decision.

Invite the Lord Jesus into your life. Ask Him to come into your heart and become your personal Lord and Saviour. Enthrone Him over your life and ask Him to take control of all that concerns you. Surrender your totality to Him and decide that you will never go back to the world of sin and the devil.

I congratulate you for this decision that you have just taken. It is the most important decision in life. I pray that it shall be permanent in your life in the Name of Jesus. I pray that the Lord will uphold you with His right hand of righteousness and will keep you from falling. I pray that the Lord will write your name in the Book of Life and you will not by any means rub it off in the Name of Jesus. Say bye-bye to the world of darkness and enter into the Kingdom of Light.

The prayers that I am suggesting below are prayers of divine intervention, by the God of Daniel. As you pray them, the spirits that have been tormenting you will leave you. The healing power of God will go forth and heal all manner of sicknesses and diseases in your spirit, soul and body. Make sure you do not allow any distraction. Every arrow that has been fired at you will go back to the sender. The power of God will fall upon you and you will be delivered from even terminal diseases. The power of God will pop out like pop-corn and things will begin to happen.

Take these prayer points with holy aggression:

- God of Daniel arise and pursue my pursuers in the Name of Jesus.

- Every occultist power searching for my face, die in the Name of Jesus.

- In the presence of those asking for my God, O God of Daniel, manifest Your power in the Name of Jesus.

- Every plantation of witchcraft in my body be uprooted in the Name of Jesus
- I arrest every profitless hard work in the Name of Jesus.

- I cancel every failure at the edge of breakthroughs in the Name of Jesus.

- Every ladder of darkness that the enemy has been using to get into my life, break and burn to ashes in the Name of Jesus.

- Every harassment from the spirit of death and hell cease in the Name of Jesus.

- Let every mark of hatred upon my forehead; be rubbed off by the Blood of Jesus.

- God of Daniel, pass through my life with signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus.

- God of Daniel anoint me for favour in the Name of Jesus.

- Serpents and Scorpions in my body go back to your sender in the Name of Jesus.

- Stubborn witchcraft of my father’s house, die in the Name of Jesus.

- Stubborn witchcraft of my mother’s house die in the Name of Jesus.

** When your star begins to shine, there are some boasting powers that would want to ask questions. These powers would want to impede your movement. Therefore take these prayers with boiling anger.
- Every child of Belial, every child of Belzebub, I cast you out of my progress in the Name of Jesus.

- Listen to me, household witchcraft, your time is up; therefore die in the Name of Jesus.

- Every power that has to die, for my joy to be full die in the Name of Jesus.

- Doors, Gates of my breakthroughs, open by fire in the Name of Jesus.

- Every personal wall of Jericho in my life, crumble in the Name of Jesus.

- I possess my possession in the Name of Jesus.

- I seal all my prayers with the Blood of Jesus.

How to Pray When Under Attack

Christians are the prime targets of the devil, the common enemy of mankind.
Now more than ever, he unleashes his rage and destruction against people because he knows that his time is short.
Christians especially experience strange attacks, both physical and spiritual, day and night.
In such conditions, we are not expected to be helpless or defenceless, rather, we are supposed to pray and subdue the enemies who have come to attack us, and quench them as the fire of thorns.
Isaiah 59:19:
So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the West and His glory from the rising of the sun. when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Exodus 14:7-14:
And he took six hundred chosen chariots and all the chariots of Egypt and captains over everyone of them and the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, King of Egypt and he pursued after the children of Israel:; and the children of Israel went out with an high hand. But the Egyptians pursued after them all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh and his horsemen and his army and overtook them encamping by the sea beside Pihahiroth before Baalzephon. And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes and behold the Egyptians marched after them and they were sore afraid and the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord. And they said unto Moses: Because there were no graves in Egypt hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us to carry us forth out of Egypt. Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying: “Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians|?” “For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.” And Moses said unto the people: “Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace.
As long as a person is alive, he will always face attacks, especially if the person is a Christian. You may wonder why you should be under attack.
You must understand the mysteries of life; once you are a child of destiny, you come under attacks. You don’t have to offend anybody nor go against any law.
Joseph came under attacks first, because of his dreams and later in Egypt, because he refused to commit an offence against his master and sin against God.
When a person comes under attacks, he would have decisions to take and most times, people take wrong decisions which compound their problems.
In the text above, Israel was under attack. Although born in the cradle of miracles, they found themselves in the midst of problems. They marched forward but got to a standstill and did not know their door of escape.
They could not go further; the pillar that was leading them had led them to a seeming destruction: in front was the Red Sea and behind was the host of Egypt as well as Pharaoh himself.
On the right and the left were insurmountable rocks. Behind them, was the raging foe pursuing, ready to attack and devour them; surely this was a time when hope would naturally die.
If you are a man or woman of destiny you would have identified with the above description. There would have been a time when you were attacked from all sides or you may be going through that attack.
Perhaps, for many years, the devil has been using you to fabricate bricks for his building and you have found a way of escape by giving your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. All of a sudden fresh problems came up against you at once.
In Isaiah 59:19, the Scripture says, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. “
Why is it that you find yourself under attack because you are praying?
What do you do when these attacks come against you? Pray kinds of prayers to be prayed when under attacks.
PRAYERS TO BE PRAYED WHEN UNDER ATTACK
1. Praise
Exalt the Lord. When Paul and Silas were in the prison, they praised the Lord with all their hearts and the earthquake of deliverance descended upon the whole prison and the chains that bound them broke.
2.Bind every spirit of fear.
That is bind the powers that will make you panic Psalm 46:10 reads,”Be still and know that I am God I will be exalted among the heathen I will be exalted in the earth.”
If you don’t bind the spirit of fear and panic, you will make more destructive mistakes. You will do terrible things that will worsen the situation. Then, the weapon of surprise by the enemy will catch up with you.
3.Ask God for wisdom concerning the steps to take and the decisions to make.
Ask Him what he want you to learn in the situation. When there is a crisis- there is concentrated information, which you have to analyze with wisdom. Pray for divine wisdom in any situation for find yourself.
4. Pray that the power of god should move in the situation.
5. Pray warfare prayers
The Bible says, ”Submit yourselves therefore to God Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” When you are a real fighter, you intimidate the enemy. Use your weapons o warfare; the word of God, the fire of God, Angels of God, the Blood of Jesus; to fight back and launch a counter attack against the enemy that wants to deal with you.
6. Pray that it is the enemy that must surrender and not you.
Be determined to fight through and the Lord will raise a standard against him.
The text in Isaiah 59:19 is actually saying that when the enemy comes against you, the spirit of God will come like a flood and raise up a standard against the enemy. Many people interpret it to mean the enemy rising up like a flood.
A BASIC CONDITON: YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN
The prayers you are going to pray would wage war against the enemy but I want you to surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ if you have not done so.
See yourself as a sinner, repent of your sins and ask Him to forgive you. Name those sins one after the other and forsake them. Ask the Lord to cleanse you with His blood which was shed on the cross at Calvary for your sins. Enthrone Him over your life and turn away from the world. Decide to follow Him for ever with all your heart. Say good-bye to the devil and the world.
Now that you have taken this important decision, the Lord will uphold you with his hand of righteousness and you will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, in the name of Jesus.
You have an opportunity today to make your Pharaoh sink in the Red Sea and to disgrace all your oppressors.
The prayers you are going to pray will cause deliverance in the head and the internal organs. They will repair every rotten part of your life and make infirmities to jump out. Pray fervently and with all your heart. Don’t be alarmed by what you fee afterwards. Concentrate and allow God to work .
In Obadiah 1:17, the Bible says: “Upon mount Zion, there shall be deliverance and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”

Helping Children Pray

I imagine some of you in the Pray! Network are pretty passionate about helping children learn to pray. Maybe you're a parent or grandparent, a Sunday school or VBS teacher, or you might lead the mid-week children's program. I'd like to make a few suggestions to help you in your ministry.

First, perhaps one of you would like to start a group here on the Pray! Network around the topic of teaching children to pray. To do so, go to the groups tab at the top of the page and follow the instructions. Others of you may know of children's prayer events or ministry training events for children's prayer leaders. If so, tell the rest of the Network by going to the Events tab and posting it for everyone to see. Or, you may have some great ideas about how to help children pray. Why not post a blog so others can learn from your experience?

Finally, Pray! has a number of tried-and-true resources to help you. There's a monthly e-newsletter called PrayKids Online News that you can subscribe to for free simply by going to www.praymag.com finding the "stay current with our online newsletters" box and clicking on PrayKids! Online News. After you've signed up for that, go to the menu on the left and click on "teaching kids." When you do, you'll be directed to a number of great tools--prayer cards, curriculum, books--that can help you help children deepen their relationship with God through prayer.

Thanks to all of you who teach our children to pray. Our future depends on it!
