Lewis Turner has "gently" nudged me to start this Discussion, SO, let's talk about this:
1st) Definition of a "Pulpit Ministry" is simply, people praying WHILE your pastor is preaching,
2nd) Let's begin by talking about experiences either YOU HAVE or that you have read about.
I help churches start prayer ministries and this is a HUGE part of prayer ministries that we start.
So, let's discuss...(thanks Lewis, this does need to get out there).

I LOVE the Pulpit Ministry Loose Sheets pdf! THANKS!
Eleven years ago, I joined two other intercessors, and we started praying for the pastor and service while the service was happening. I LOVE interceding while the service is going on! It is SO POWERFUL to be seeking God and interceding for the worship team, pastor, and the attendees while they are all worshiping and listening to the Word being preached! After eleven years, my passion for this has grown even stronger as the Lord has taken me much deeper in Him!
We have a group of people signed up to pray in a separate room during the whole service. We call it the Best Seat in the House because the Spirit meets with us & effects those praying as well as the service.

Mark, you shared with personally with me one way that has been effective for your work--inviting men to pray for their pastor on Sunday Morning. That is a great way to encourage men to pray and we do need more men praying. I frankly believe that as they pray together, their relationship with each other and their pastor will grow.
Maybe others have thoughts about relationship and prayer.
