Christmas in Arabia

During the Christmas season, many believers throughout the Arabian Peninsula host parties, gatherings, and events to share the true meaning of Christ's birth to their Muslim friends. It is also a time when many Muslims have opportunity to ask questions about Jesus if they are seeking and encounter the Christmas story on social media. 

Let's pray for boldness, discernment, and wisdom as believers invite their Muslim friends to celebrate Christmas together and share the Christmas account. 

Let's pray that this will be a first Christmas as sons and daughters of God for many Muslims as they discover the true meaning of the celebration of Christmas.

"But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship." Gal 4:4-5

PTAP: Assurance of Eternal Life

For both Muslims and Christians there is a great desire for the afterlife. This world and all that it offers still leaves us empty. We desire heaven. It is the work of Jesus on the cross that assures Christians their sins are forgiven and they have an eternal home in heaven when they die. Christians have confidence in the finished work of Jesus.
Muslims do not have Jesus' righteousness; all they have is the hope that Allah will allow them into paradise. They have no assurance. Even if they follow the Quran and the Sharia Law perfectly there is no assurance of a place in heaven. Pray that all that Jesus has done will be understood in the Arabian Peninsula. Pray that the name of Jesus would grow in honor. Pray that people in this region would so long for the assurance of heaven that they would seek until they find the way the truth and the life in Jesus Christ.


This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood-to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. HOPE FROM THE LAW

Most of us think there is very little hope for mankind in the law of God. And if you think of keeping the law in your own efforts as your self-salvation project, it is indeed absolutely hopeless. However the law of God was not given to bring Salvation. It shows us God's standards of right and wrong. And when we come to it with a transformed heart, it shows us how we are able to please God who has done everything to save us. And the law helps us break free from sin in our lives Buy pointing out the sin that is beneath our sins.

The content of The 10 Commandments is the foundation of all relationships and all social engagement. You judge relationships and societies by trustworthiness, goodness, and love.

And if I live in a vile society where everyone is oppressed, where my loved ones are raped and abused in every way imaginable, I need an assurance that there is a God of justice for me to have any hope at all.

The 10 Commandments that God gave on Mount Sinai came from God Himself. They came with ultimate authority and ultimate rightness. In Deuteronomy 5 Moses reiterates the 10 Commandments as the people were preparing to enter the Promised Land. And Moses recounts to them the working of God that led up to the initial giving of The Commandments. Deuteronomy 19:33-35 reads,

“Did any people ever hear the voice of a god speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and still live? Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, and by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great deeds of terror, all of which the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.”

Modern people may be able to think of the ten Commandments as something conceived by Moses or by humans in general. But the children of Israel did not have that option. They could not but say after what they had been through, “The Lord He is God! The Lord He is God!

A Higher Law

Since God is the Absolute Sovereign of the universe, He alone deserves reverential fear.

We should submit to no lesser governor who dares countermand His rules for living.

No matter what society says is permissible, we should walk heaven’s high road.

In every situation, we should honor God above all earthly legal authority.

 

A higher law of integrity outshines the common practice of compromise.

A higher law of life conquers and cancels the dreadful reign of death.

A higher law of hope transcends the suffocating rule of despair.

A higher law of freedom breaks the merciless tyranny of sin.

 

Civil disobedience is imperative when human ideas clash with heavenly directives.

Whatever the god of the world advocates, God’s Word is the final answer.

Whatever earthly kings say, the King of kings is the highest authority.

Whatever opinion polls say, we should fear God, nothing else.

 

“Because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king.”
