Several years ago, after telling God I surrendered my life to Him, I have been awakened in the middle of the night and experienced some of the sweetest moments with the Lord, devouring the Bible like I had never read it before and praying the Scriptures with such fervor, I know it came from God. I believe it was to release in my spirit a hunger for God and His ways. But the last few nights, after my husband and I returned from our daughter and family who just had a baby, I have been awakened to pray specifically for her. There are issues in her life that have caused our relationship with her to deteriorate and it pains us greatly. I don't know what it is going to take to heal this, but I know that God can, and I believe that my awake times are very important to pave the way for God to work. If you think of us, please remember us in your prayers.
Hi Priscilla, Thank you for sharing your experience with praying in the middle of the night. I am believing with you that God can bring healing and restoration to your family. Just keep praying as the Spirit of God leads you. He can do amazing things and he is still in the miracle business.
I am really amazed that so many people have just started responding to this discussion! I think God might be up to something really big and he's calling more and more intercessors to be ready at a moment's notice. It's wonderful that God has so many willing and obedient people He can call on in the middle of the night, no matter where in the world we are! Blessings to each one of you - Keep standing firm and praying in the Spirit!
Yes, I have been woken up and felt God had woke me up to pray. This specific time before I woke up I heard a little boy crying and crying, sobbing. It was like I could hear him in my bedroom. I told God I didn't know who he was but I prayed for him and for his situation, then I prayed for every little boy I knew who might need prayer.---Doris
The most recent time was when God woke me up to say, "I have put you here to make a difference." Then I saw the pictures...our city is overrun with men's 'clubs', breweries, and more. It was almost overwhelming. "You do it one by one," He said, as I prayed for the people of this city, in particular my neighborhood.
Yes! When I wake up I know my task is to pray and I ask Him to give me the name of the person I am to pray for. At times, I am led to pray for a situation in the world.
That is so beautiful, Marsha! And so encouraging, because it means He is raising up people to pray for us in moments of great need, as well! Thank you for sharing that! May the Lord use me to pray in that fashion.

There have been many times when God woke me up to pray even though I didn't have anyone in particular on my heart at the time. As I knelt before the Lord, I could sense that His spirit had something different planned and I would pray in the spirit with tongues that were foreign to me. God has often blessed me with a vision, almost like a snapshot, of who I was praying for. Once I prayed for a man in China who was being persecuted for his faith, another time it was a woman in prison who was seeking God and another time it was a young mother who was suicidal. In each instance, I would continue in prayer until the crisis was over. God is looking for people with willing hearts to pray when a need arises and that is the beauty of being connected through His spirit. It can reach across the world and comfort, protect and bless others in ways we cannot imagine.

Thank you for reminding me to pray when I wake. It is usually in the middle of the night. Someone told me God wanted my attention and to start praying and rest in Him. That's remakable yet so simple and pleasing because that's what He wants me and you to do! Great revelation!
