I began praying scripture back a few years ago and I am really excited when I read a verse that I think will be a big help in praying for myself or someone in my family or our country.( I guess even more so now the world.) I am so small in my thoughts of what our great God can do. He is not small at all and nothing is to hard for him, or deminishes His power in any way. I have seen how God's word changed my life and I am so eager to see it out there in the world for others to be set on fire with it also!  We don't call it the Living Word for no reason at all. This is powerful stuff! How better to get Our Father's attention than with his own words to us. God is so Good! In Christ's Love Rhondalyn Burns

  • What scripture would you pray for someone who is not a Christian, but their family members want to pray for them to become one?
    • I have gone to 1 John 2:15 - 16, that God would make the things of the world so unappealing that they would turn to God. Also, Philippians 3:7-10, especially 10, that they would KNOW Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. Ezekiel 36: 23 - 27 is another great one - that God would replace their stony heart with a tender, responsive heart.

There are so many good verses, but those are the ones that usually come to my mind.
  • How about Ephesians1:17-20 Insert their names in and make it personal to them. Also I pray Isaiah 44:3-5 for Molly and Andy just declaring this through out the day. Speak the word out loud. God pour out your Spirit and your blessings on my children. Man don't we all need this. I Chronicles 28:9 I write these out on index cards and put names in and personalize them. Help my son and daughter to get to know the God of their ancestors and to worship you Lord with their whole heart and a willing mind. 2 Peter 3:9 God is patient with us and He does not want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. I will keep looking here I know I have more. This is a place to begin. You will be surprised as you are just reading His word how something will jump out and you will think that is what I want to pray for so and so. Hope this helps. In His Love Rhondalyn
  • Yes it does. I had a lady on facebook tonight ask for prayers for salvation for her husband and now I can direct her better! Thanks!

  • Isaiah 55:6-8, 10-11 God's word is alive & powerful. It will accomplish what He desires. Don't give up, but pray persistantly like the the widow in Luke 18.

  • God said that he desires for no one to perish but all come to the saving knowledge of Jesus - call them out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light - pray God wold shine his light in their darkness and open up their spiritual eyes/understanding. I also rebuke the powers of darkness blinding their eyes and understanding. There is a book about binding and loosing by Liberty Savaard - praying the person to be bound to God's will and purposes, to the blood of Jesus, their mind to the mind of Christ and their feet to paths of righteousness.

  • When I am at a loss for words or just praying for someone Scripture says it better than I. For instance you can start in
Galatians 5:19 and ask the Lord to keep whoever I am praying for from these sins and then it migrates into verse 22 where you ask the Lord fill them with the fruits of the Spirit. I have found a good source for praying Scripture to be the Daily Walk e mail devotional.

  • Not only does praying Scripture help us pray according to God's will, but it will also help us hide God's Word in our heart. It is when the concept becomes real to us that memorization of it gets easier.

Psalm 91 is full of promises, ready and handy in times of trouble to those who have it hidden in their heart (learned and memorized)!
    • Gail that is so true. I love Psalm 91. It is so good to have God's word hidden in our hearts. Sometimes it takes me repeating His word over and over before it finally sinks in. I'm so thankful that Jesus is long suffering with me. What a Savior! God Bless you. In Christ's Love Rhondalyn
  • Awwwe how Beautiful Kaye. Indeed the Word is Life and we are Speaking Spirits therefore, death and life is is in our tongues. I agree with Praying Scriptures, I have begun to write a Healing Journal and have included many Scriptures, however I've changed all the Scriptures to First Person, so I would read them like they were written for me. The Word Is Powerful Indeed and we should always use it in the manner it was meant to be for us .... Life Alive Living Well!!!!
