Our College Campuses Need Prayers

Many of our grandchildren are attending college and universities, some are Christian, and some are secular colleges.  The grandchildren attending secular universities are taught a secular worldview and probably navigating ungodly influences. We need to pray for our grandchildren’s deep spiritual needs, the needs of their souls.9651042063?profile=original

Barna Research President, David Kinnaman’s new book writes in his new book

Faith for Exiles. The percentage of young-adult dropouts has increased from 59 to 64 percent. Nearly two-thirds of U.S. 18–29-year-olds who grew up in church tell Barna they have withdrawn from church involvement as an adult after having been active as a child or teen.

 I would like to encourage you to pray for the campus where your grandchild is attending. Pray he/she will get involved in a Christian college ministry on their campus for Christian fellowship and community.

Let’s pray the next generation will have the passion and energy to be godly leaders to change the world. The following are suggestions to you can pray.

WHAT TO PRAY FOR:

  • ASK GOD WHAT HE’S ALREADY DOING THERE—
  • Do some listening prayer, asking God questions such as,
  • “Lord, what are YOU praying for this campus?”
  • “Who are you moving in here right now?”
  • “What are the barriers to your work here?”

Spend time listening and write down anything you hear or feel.

  * PRAY AND LISTEN

Ask God to show you what revival would look like on this campus.

Write down anything you see or feel.

   * PRAY FOR CHRISTIANS

Pray that Christians already on this campus would be bold, have faith, and be courageous. If there are any Christian groups or churches already on campus, pray this for them as well.

   * PRAY FOR PEOPLE IN POWER

Pray for professors, administrators, student government, and other leaders on campus.

I hope you will find these Scriptures helpful to pray for your college student.

  • Sharing the Gospel with 1 Million Students in 1,000 Days

    NSP Launches 'Meant for More' Campaign to Public School Students with the Gospel

    NEWS PROVIDED BY
    National School Project
    Oct. 11, 2019

    WHITTIER, Calif., Oct. 11, 2019 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Aug 5, the National School Project (NSP), a Christian Non-Profit Organization passionate about student-to-student evangelism on public school campuses, began a historic campaign to reach 1 million students with the gospel in the next 1,000 days.

    During Meant for More, students will sign up to lead Meant for More Weeks at their schools in March of 2020. Students will host outreach events throughout the month and spread the message that all students on their campuses are meant for more than this world has to offer-they're meant to know God.

    "We're so excited to already have students from 105+ different campuses signed up to lead Meant for More Weeks at their schools this year, and praying in faith to see over 150 schools in at least 8 metropolitan areas get on board by the time March 2020 rolls around," said Mark Hopson, president of NSP. "We can't wait to see these courageous students tell the 250,000 students at their schools that they are meant for more."

    To accomplish these goals, NSP is excited to partner with ministries like FCA, CRU, and local churches to see more students come to know the Lord. NSP has also decided for the first time ever to "package" their outreach training and materials in such a way that any student, anywhere in the USA, can learn how to lead outreach on their own and be equipped to recruit the parental, pastoral, and administrative approval they need to do outreach well.

    "Of the hundreds of outreaches we've seen, the most powerful are the ones that have strong community support. Community support isn't a fluffy idea that just sounds nice-it's a real, tangible partnership that allows people to do something bigger than what any one person or one group could do on their own," said Lisa Cohen, NSP Training Director.
