National Day of Prayer Shot Down in Court

A Wisconsin judge has ruled that the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional under the provisions of the First Amendment. Shirley Dobson and the National Day of Prayer Task Force is urging praying Christians to sign a petition to President Obama, asking him to appeal this decision, and to pray for this historic day of prayer for the nation to be preserved as one of our basic freedoms. • What is meant for harm can be turned to good. In 2010 there was more favor than usual for the National Day of Prayer in Nevada. The Rock of our Salvation never fails.
  • My church is having prayer! The courts cannot keep us from praying, but the battle certainly rages.
  • We need to stand firm when it comes to truth. Truth isn't always warm & fuzzy. Sometimes it is painful, but it needs to be told. We need to pray no matter what. We serve God & Him alone. It amazes me in some ways that anyone would block the National day of Prayer from occuring. To me thats unconstitutional. As for me & my house we will servew the Lord & we will be praying on the National Day of prayer & everyday.
  • This enforces the response I have made before - what are we doing on the National Day of Prayer, or any other day for that matter regarding prayer. We don't need the government to remind us to pray. But these kinds of decisions enforce the need for prayer and individuals and churches organizing and attending their own days of prayer.
  • Heard today that Franklin Graham was un-invited to speak at the Pentagon because someone complained about comments he made about Islam several years ago. Pray that God will use all of the publicity about the National Day of Prayer to bring about a good outcome resulting in people coming into the Kingdom. We should not feel discouraged - after all, we do not need approval from any government to pray.
  • It has just come to my knowledge that the Obama administration has cancelled The National Day of Prayer.
    What a disappointment !
