PTAP: The Church in Arabia - Leaders

February Prayer Campaign - Pray for the church in the AP
We are continuing to pray for the forming of indigenous churches in the Arabian Peninsula (AP) as a PTAP community in February.

Week 4 – Leaders of the AP Church

“But Jesus called them to him and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:25-28
Praise the Lord that communities of local believers from a Muslim background (MBBs) are gathering together in the Arabian Peninsula and local churches are being birthed. As these new churches form, leaders are needed to serve, guide, direct, teach, preach and encourage.

Pray for God to raise up AP church leaders who have the heart of a servant, and a passion to love and care for His people. Pray that the groups of MBBs will be able to recognize and submit to the leaders God has chosen.

Pray for AP church leaders to be completely surrendered to God and the authority of His Word. Pray that these leaders would rightly divide the Word and be able to communicate it to their congregations.

Pray for AP church leaders to be discerning of the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Pray for AP church leaders to be people of biblical integrity: gentle, above reproach, self-controlled, honest, moral, trustworthy, not greedy, respectful, hardworking and teachable.

Pray for AP church leaders to have a deep understanding of the needs of the people they shepherd.

Pray for AP church leaders to have wisdom to help their congregations navigate through persecution, and to live vibrantly for Christ within the Muslim culture that surrounds them.

PTAP: Warriors in Prayer

Youth of Yemen
Pray for the young men of Yemen. Some, even as young as 15 years old have joined the militant religious gangs, fighting alongside of them. They should be in high school but their schools were destroyed or are used to house displaced people. Pray that the teenagers will return to their families. Pray against the temptation that young men face to join these groups. Pray for peace in this.

Battle Against Witchcraft
Please pray for a local friend who has been a victim of witchcraft for the past year. She has been tormented by another woman who has cast spells on her and her children. Now we have learned that a member of her own family has been practicing black magic in the home with frightening results. In addition, her involvement with believers has angered this family member and has caused this person to perform more black magic specifically against her and against the believers. They went to her home and prayed out loud to Jesus. She felt peace afterwards

This is a spiritual battle that rages on. Please pray for this friend's protection and ultimately her salvation in Jesus Christ, the only Power that can truly rescue her from darkness. And pray against the spiritual forces of darkness in her life. Pray that the Lord would have mercy and transfer her from the Kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of His beloved Son.

A Prayer Warrior
Ms C is a devoted Christian and prayer warrior. Recently, a believer was coming within her client-server role and she was asked to give some special attention to them by other believers that recognize her opportunity.  She along with other members of her small fellowship are dedicating hours in praying for the locals.  Ms C is going out of her way to take good care for a fellow believer, and prays for them in their time of need.  Ms C shared that over her years she has met 2 other believers, who revealed their faith to her. Ms C came to the region initially in order to provide for her family financially, but has since found that God has placed her in a unique position to influence others. The small fellowship she has been a part of has been a great encouragement to others in prayer reaching out to the locals. Please pray that more of the community of believers will also hear the call to bring God's Kingdom in their respective spheres of influence and that different communities will come together in unity and harmony for the Kingdom.

PTAP: Taken Captive by the Devil

The devil has been taking people captive to do his will (2 Timothy 2:26) since the fall of man. The land and kingdoms of this earth are controlled by him (Matthew 4:8-9). As we think about advancing the Kingdom of God we know that there is a fight between two kingdoms. There are places in the Arabian Peninsula that have been controlled for years by the devil. Pray that the AP will be freed from the devil and his control. Pray that the hearts of AP Muslims would be freed from the hardness the devil places there, especially the hardness against knowing Jesus the Son of God and the full truths about Jesus. Pray for a growing movement among people who will seek Jesus to advance His great name in families, villages, towns and cities across the AP. The devil has been in control too long, we are seeking the God of all creation to have a great victory in the AP.

A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants. 2 Timothy 2:24-26

Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. "I will give it all to you," he said, "if you will kneel down and worship me." Matthew 4:8-9

What did Jesus respond? "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" Matthew 4:10
