PTAP: Hajj in Mecca

Prayer Requests - August 5, 2018
HAJJ PRAYER 2018

On 19-21 August 2018, PTAP is asking for 100,000 people from around the world to join us in Prayer and Fasting for the two million Muslims going on the Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.

The Hajj is one of the five required acts of service for all Muslims. The city of Mecca is the center of the entire Muslim world.  It is the place where the Hajj is performed and the place to where a Muslim directs his daily prayers.  Therefore, there are many barriers that prevent the gospel from spreading to these people at this time.  However, our God knows no barriers!  And so we desire to gather together to fast and pray for this monumental event - for God to do something truly miraculous, something only he can do.

Would you join us in this effort as well as spread the word about this prayer and fasting event?

We have created three core resources for you:

A Hajj prayer promo video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaLq9B14wBM) - This is designed to introduce this event and invite others to join us for these three days of prayer and fasting.

Hajj Prayer guides and a Hajj prayer video (http://prayforap.com/hajj.html) - We created a helpful 4-page prayer guide that has been translated into several languages (including Korean, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, German, and Portugese).  There is also a corresponding video to watch.

Please forward the above resources along to your spheres of influence and also feel free to edit as you feel led.  And similarly, when it comes to the fasting element, feel free to fast you feel led - one meal, one day, all three days, individually, as a group, etc.

Our one request is that you let us know an estimate of how many people in your spheres of influence prayed and also the country where they prayed during these three days.

Second Generation Believers

We know that most of the believers in the Arabian Peninsula are first generation believers. Islam is so strong here that this is not surprising. However, there is a second generation of believers too! Though very small in number, they do exist. Please pray for them. Pray specifically for the teenage son of one local mother. He became a believer through his mother. She has asked us to pray for his studies, that he would be a good student in school who is disciplined and focused. And also, pray that he would be a faithful witness to Christ to other high students through his life and his words. Pray for protection since persecution is inevitable when other students find out about his faith. Pray that the Lord would bless him and cover him with favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12).

Also, pray for his mother who feels attacked by the evil one. She is trying to help "Jennifer" whom has been highlighted in our prayer emails the past few months. Now this believer feels that the evil of black magic from Jennifer's life is affecting her. Therefore, she has started fasting. Pray that the Lord would protect this believer from all evil. Continue to pray for Jennifer who is still searching for answers. Pray that the Lord would mightily use this believer to minister effectively to Jennifer.

Be a part of the 22 Days of Fire

New Year’s Day is coming and rather than just celebrating the turn of a calendar page, let’s make the day meaningful by seeking a fresh touch from the Lord!

Urge your church to become a part of, ’22 Days of Fire.’ It’s a Christ-centered way to start out the new year.

The first step this year is the New Year’s Day worship service, including prayer to rededicate your life and your church to the Lord and His purposes. A fellowship meal after the service would be a way to unify the people behind the vision for the fast.

The next step is a 21-day Daniel Fast until January 22nd.

A Daniel fast is patterned after Daniel’s fast in Daniel chapter one. Generally it consists of eating fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products, maybe eggs. While it’s not a rigid fast, to be genuine, you shouldn’t eat meat (including fish), junk/snack food, nor sweets (candy, desserts, donuts, etc.).

Each week has a specific focus:

+The first seven days of the Daniel Fast are to seek His mercy.

+The next seven days are to seek His wisdom and specific direction.

+The last seven days of the Daniel Fast are to seek His power and anointing for your life and for your church.

It’s recommended that everyone participating in this time of prayer and fasting have a prayer meeting during each week of the 21-day fast. Share what the Lord has shown you during the time.

If ever there was a time in our nation’s history when we need to seek the Lord it’s now! Let us join together to seek the Lord’s heart for our church, for our nation, and for our own walk with the Lord.9651028260?profile=original

As Muslims pray and fast during Ramadan, we pray for them.
Ramadan is June 6 - July 5, 2016
Introduction
Every year most Muslims fast for a month from sunrise to sunset. Muslims follow the lunar calendar. In 2016, Ramadan likely will begin June 6 and end on July 5
Christians serving in the Arab Muslim world are asking you to pray specifically during this time frame as Muslims take the month to fast.

Muslims eat at night during Ramadan, but this fast is a challenge and many take it as a spiritual time. We pray Muslims will come to know Jesus Christ during this month focused on prayer and fasting.

In this prayer guide, you will find suggested Scriptures to pray through. Many prayer points are from Christians living in each country, and there are prayers of blessing for these nations.

Isaiah 58:1-12 is a great Scripture to read to understand more about fasting.

This prayer guide was created by OM. The prayer guide is free and you are welcome to share it.

PTAP will send out an email on the dates the countries in our region overlap with the larger prayer guide.

PTAP: Fasting

Yesterday, I did a water only fast most of the day, as planned. The Lord opened up numerous opportunities to serve others and share the good news of Jesus and that Jesus is the way. At the end of the day, I had the opportunity to share a teaching with a friend via phone about what fasting is all about. (2 Chronicles 7:14).

This morning as I left the house, I observed that it had rained after a season of drought. Lesson: God still answers prayer and is still a miracle working God, like He always has been. He is waiting for us to pray.

Please consider praying for the reign of God and agricultural abundance for the sake of the poor in the Arabian Peninsula as people turn to the Lord Jesus.

Substance abuse has been directly linked to violence and sexual immorality and is a major source of income for organized crime and terrorist activities.

Make a formal commitment to join with believers in Christ from around the globe this coming April. Put on the full armor of God and fervently pray in spirit and in truth. We are seeking to enlist millions of prayer warriors from around the world to join us in battle!

“We are not only praying for the release of those bound by substance abuse but also for people to be delivered from pornography, gambling, obesity and smoking,” said Steven Sherman, “Just Pray NO!” founder. “We seek individuals and groups which are willing to commit to pray weekly on behalf of the addicted and their families, and then join with multitudes of other committed Christians from around the world in prayer and fasting April 26 – 27, 2014.”

THE KEY TO DELIVERANCE:

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me. Exodus 9:1

When the Hebrew slaves were in bondage in Egypt they cried out to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for a deliverer. Passover recalls the deliverance of Israel from the bondage of Egypt. Passover is both a historical account and a prophetic picture. Moses “The Deliverer” is a type of the Messiah (Christ). The bondage of slavery in Egypt is a type of the bondage of sin in the world. Pharaoh typifies Satan. The Passover, when the firstborn male child passed from death to life by the blood of the lamb, is a picture of our passing from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son by the shed blood of the Lamb of God.

Persons who are addicted need to break the demonic strongholds in their lives by repenting of their sins and placing their trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross. They need to be born again and receive the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Many people wonder why God does not help them when they cry out to Him to be set free from their addictions. The reason that they remain in bondage is that they want to be set free – but are unwilling to surrender their lives to Jesus. The “KEY” that will set a person free is to understand that the Almighty’s purpose in setting a person free is to “SERVE HIM.”  Jesus must not only be your Savior but your Lord!  When you cry out, “Dear Jesus, forgive me of my sins and deliver me from my addiction and I will serve you the rest of my life!”– Not only will you be set free, and have a healthier lifestyle, you will inherit eternal life, know true joy and receive God’s blessings!

Meeting with a group of guys at work to study the Celebration of Discipline. This is a classic, written in 1978 to get people back to the disciplines that during the time of Christ were not even explained, because everyone did them. including mediation, fasting, prayer, solitude, service and more...great book, looking forward to growing in my disciplines with like minded brothers. Please pray for us as we learn what should become second nature to all Christians....
