Read more…Hi friends--- My reason for launching this discussion thread is to perhaps secure your help with the research for my dissertation in the arena of corporate prayer. I am a Doctor of Ministry student at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky as well as Lead Pastor at the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene in Hastings, Nebraska. My study centers around identifying churches that are effective at mobilizing their laity in the arena of corporate prayer. I hope to conduct…

John,
It has been probably 6 years since we last talked on Pray.Network. You had finished your Doctor’s Dissertation on Corporate Prayer. By now, I am wondering if you are pastoring a church or working in another Christian Venture.
It would be interesting to me how you are using that study and training. I am interested in listening if you are willing to share about it, and how your studies have helped you and others.
Since we have communicated, I have been working on several projects. One id working with the Old Brunswick Circuit Foundation, which is working to preserve 3 historic sites of Methodism. The first circuit of the Circuit Riders was the Brunswick Circuit. One of sights being preserved is the original facility of the Randolph Macon College in Boydton, Va. This is the first Methodist College in the USA. Of interest, my Great Great Grandfather wrote the charter to in in the Virginia Legislature. He was not a Methodist. He was an Episcopalian. He did know the Lord Jesus as His Savior.
Also, I have taken the time to study the alphabet of early Hebrew which used pictures know as pictographs. In this study, I researched the meanings of the pictograph letters, then following the discipline of Etymology, I applied them to some Hebrew words and Names. Only a few have done this. I have published some of my research that focused on 31 Names of God. That work is now published and is in the form of a paperback published on Amazon. It was recently the subject of Chat with the Author—an interview that Phil Miglioratti conducted. The study reinforces much of what we have learned from Biblical studies. It also shows that God wants us to know who He is and what He has done for us at Calvary. It also shares about the importance of family to God. If you want to make a study of the Names of God, the book is available on Amazon.com. Just put in the search—the following: Lewis Turner 31.s
I am sensing the need for the development of a Prayer School focused on Prayer Ministry. There is a lot of work in this area that is needed to help our pastors lead their churches to be houses of Prayer.
That is just a short version of what is going on at my place.
Trust you will find the time to share. Your experiences may also
Help pastors on Pray.Network.
