It appears to be a season of prayer. God is putting together prayer initiative upon prayer initiative. Not one of these will reach everyone, but between them, many will be encouraged and deepened in their prayer lives. The NPC is sponsoring Prayer Watch 2010 in Kansas City, Aug.26-29. In many ways, this launches a time of prayer leading up to The Call Sacramento, Sept.3-4. This is the tenth anniversary of this powerful call to prayer. We pray The Call will be used to launch 40 days of prayer and fasting leading up to the critical fall elections.
In the midst of this is Cry Out America on Sept, 11, a time of repentance on behalf of our nation, seeking God for revival in the land. A more international call to prayer, but one that has great significance for our nation is the International Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem on the first Sunday in October.
Throughout all of this is a quieter call to prayer that actually began yesterday, Aug.1st. Our brother Steve Hall has put together a simple daily prayer time that focuses on the names of Christ.
From now till the end of the year he has put together scriptures that help us focus on the person of Christ. I am going to attach some of the information here and then send more later for your use as the Lord leads. This is one of the ways that your National Prayer Committee can serve you.
