  • I learned so much from my first pastor who was truly a man of prayer.  He did not rely on his own ablities or strengths but made it a daily practice to spend that time alone with God in prayer.  Every group or fuction in the church began and ended with prayer.  One year He made it a point to focus entirely on prayer.  That church today is still a praying church because he led the way, encouraged others to pray, and trusted God in the process to draw all to Him.
