The topic for this discussion is a one that we should consider.  I have known many intercessors who feel that they should be silent about what they pray.  This may be from the scripture about going to your closet and shut the door and pray in private.

I do recognize the need of that private time of praying.

Still--I have seen many encouraged to pray when they know how others are praying, and it also can encourage those whom the intercessor is praying for.  (there are times when intercessors pray for someone--about things that could be sensitive and we do need to understand the need to avoid the appearance of gossip)

What are your thoughts about sharing your prayer focus with others?  Is it possible that some sharing might help others pray with you in agreement (Matthew 18:19)?  Would that make a difference in seeing more answered prayer?

Do you have trusted friends with whom you can share and what shared stays with them and not spread around--even in prayer groups?

I believe our sharing may help intercessors to open up with each other how they go about intercessory praying--and issues they face.

  • Richard--the report on prayer during you shared -- is an encouragement. May God use that report to encourage others.

    • Was glad to hear your surgery went well and you are in rehab. You will remain in our prayers.

    • Thank you Richard--also I ask all in the Intercessor group to remember the spouses of those who have had major surgery-they are an important to recovery-and they need God's continual presence.

       Blessings,

    • Am praying right now for your upcoming surgery, Lewis. See you back soon. :)

  • Last weekend I spent in intensive care after having serious internal bleeding. So glad to have people praying for me during and after that situation. Lewis, had to be open enough to mshare my need openly, without worrying what people might say or think. That HAD to be up to YHWH. When the ICU team got me stabalized they did a group hug and there is no doubt that some of them offered up a silent prayer. Seriously, it helped my recovery and I will NEVER forget it. Seemed like a hug from YHWH Himself. Personally, believe that it is scriptural that agreement is powerful. We also need to hear the answers because they are encouraging. Also, We are a select group who pray as HE leads and don't have to do it like anyone else. I have a large prayer list to peruse and stop specificcally as HE leads. That is what makes it fresh and drives me to continue.

It is just like being on here. Pray regularly, yet have not felt led to be here for months. There was no doubt the time is right. Thank you for yout faithfulness.
