In reflecting on the USA election, there is and will be much reflection and many Christians are probably wondering what happened. Yes there was MUCH prayer before the elections. There was a genuine humbling of many and confession of sin. Definitely the Lord will honor those prayers. Still there are many questions to ask ourselves--and it is definitely time to seek the Lord continually--not just for a crisis.
In my thoughts and observations,
We need to pull together and pray like we have never prayed before. The heart of the king is in the Lord's hand. The Lord can turn it where He wills. It is not time to stop praying because the election is over.
Also, maybe we should be praying for God's move on the hearts of the people of our nation--rather than just focusing on our leaders as our salvation. (I have sensed that many look to a group or people to set things right--the Bible says it is the Lord.) We do need to be involved--and the focus in our hearts needs to be on the Lord.
I would like to hear thoughts about how we should be praying from other intercessors.

I completely agree with Lewis. "It is definitely time to seek the Lord continually." (Lord, help me to do that as it relates to our great nation! I am very slack in doing this.) I also think Lewis makes a GREAT suggestion when he wrote, "maybe we should be praying for God's move on the hearts of the people of our nation--rather than just focusing on our leaders as our salvation." Actually, when we think about it, it is the people of our nation that had a strong voice in electing who THEY wanted to lead them! We are not in the mess we are in today because of one or a handful of "leaders" ... We are in the mess we are in because of the moral decline of the people who made the choices to put them in a position of leadership. (Lewis, if I am misinterpreting what you meant, please correct me!) Oh, Lord, we NEED an AWAKENING in our nation! PLEASE breathe afresh upon each and every person in our nation...awaken those that need to be awakened, revive those that need to be revived, and strengthen those that need to be strengthened...and may we ALL seek YOUR FACE in repentance and humility! Bring us, as a nation as a whole, to YOU!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN!
