Veterans

Veterans, especially those of the Vietnam era, have many hurts, some open, some hidden.  I am thankful that our country is starting to honor its veterans again.  That helps and has great meaning to our Vets.

Yet many vets have deep feeling that is hidden--sometimes helplessness of not being able to help a buddy who was hurt; hurt by the massive protests of the 1970's, issues in finding jobs, and many more hurts to many to list.

Listen to the attached 'Prayer Minute' and then consider:

If you are a vet--what have you found that has helped you?

If is learning to forgive?

Is it doing community service?

Or is there something else that has helped you?

Please--tell us about it--what ever helped you.  It will encourage others.

I, too, am a Vet, a retired LTC from the United States Army Reserve, and I served in Thailand during the Vietnam War.  Many of my friends and my own brother were in Vietnam.  It was not a fun time.  I share this as a Vet.  Today, what has helped me are three things, one seeing my country start to honor its vets, my learning to forgive, and learning to bless.

Again, maybe you would like to share what helped you as Vet.
