Thanksgiving

Listen to the attached Prayer Minute, then consider the following:

Blessings come to us two ways:

  • Ones that we have
  • Ones that we give.

More often than not, we need to be reminded of the many blessings around us.  We often forget the little things that really are a blessing—like a cup of cold water.  The old hymn is very true—“Count your Blessings”.  When we recognize our blessings, we will be surprised what God has done.

Perhaps we should share here or with others blessings that we have.  Just listing them will encourage you.

Now--after we have listed some blessings, let's ask ourself, are we blessing others????

If you have and would like to share what sharing a blessing means to you, please do so.  I know it will encourage others.

The Lord will help us do this if we ask Him in prayer.  “Father, help us to recognize our blessings and to be able to bless others.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

  •  I thank God for the blessing of family.

I thank God for  things we take for granted like hot water, heat when I think of others who may  not have this.

Sharing a blessing is  providing coats, hats, socks, body wash, deodorant to  persons who are living on the street or in poor conditions. I passed out these items in a park in Detroit, Michigan on November 19, 2011.

My prayer group is passing out blankets.

My intercessory prayer team at church is going to buy a Christmas gift for a father in prison for his daughter as part of the Angels' Christmas Tree.

    • What can I say to that report you shared, other than to say --Thank you for sharing that.  It is a blessing just to hear it. May it encourage many many more to count their blessing and then share with others. Sharing with others who have need, follows what Isaiah chapter 58 encourages us to do!
