Clean Heart

Reflections:

When we make a resolution, what is the real desire of our heart?

  • A new beginning?
  • A better more meaningful path?
  • To walk in God’s direction and purity?
  • To have a clear conscience and heart?

How does the cry of the Psalmist in Psalms 51: 10 encourage us?

Perhaps all of us need to make course changes to remove sin, or things that keep us from following what Christ wants.  What are some of those changes?  It may help to identify them by writing them down.

As we reflect on the above and our resolutions; think on this--humility can be helpful in making adjustments, but is it also helpful in following that more meaningful path?

  • I have found all too frequently that I may be making resolutions to gratify my flesh - even at times resolutions that look godly. My flesh so loves accomplishment! At times because I know the tendency of my flesh I have refrained from making resolutions at all but lately the Lord has been showing me that I need to make resolutions for progress, but I need to be keeping them before Him in prayer, asking that He would show me when accomplishment of a resolution would produce pride and asking Him for that clean heart

    • Well stated Naomi!  Thanks for sharing.
