Take a minute and listen to the attached video then consider the reflection questions below.  Consider sharing a response to them--it may encourage someone else to consider blessing others.

When we ask for blessings that are in line with God’s Word, what can we expect to see as a result?

There is a principle that we reap what we sow.  Ask your self, are you blessing others?  If not, what might happen if we did?

What are some blessings that we might consider asking for?

  • I'm beginning to wonder the opposite... I know it sounds crazy, and I'm not quite there yet, but I'm wondering about praying for suffering.  The greatest spiritual growth in my life came during seasons of suffering, and I have seen the same in the lives of others.  I fully acknowledge that God wants us to see His goodness in the land of the living, not just in the eternal life.  Yet so many of our prayers for blessing focus on the temporal... jobs, relationships, money, health, etc... what if we prayed that people would be blessed SPIRITUALLY?  That they would grow and flourish in their walks with the Lord, even if that meant suffering?

    • Ruth--you have some good thoughts.  Spiritual Blessings are indeed needed, as well as other blessings--And if the Lord is leading you to pray for Spiritual Blessings, then do so.

There is a song--Jesus, Others, and You --what a wonderful way to spell JOY!  When the Lord sends spiritual blessings, I believe we will find other blessings following in God's timing.

I like your thoughts about praying for Spiritual Blessings.
