  • Yes, I would be willing to agree in prayer with you about our military personnel. My daughter is in the Army National Reserve and I constantly pray for her and battle buddies. Verleria
  • Hi Verleria, Nice to hear from you. My 22 year old Michael from the Orlando unit is deploying to Afghanistan in June. I am going to try and adopt his whole unit to send stuff overand offer prayer support. Hope to get all their names. As far as prayer goes I will be going into heavy concentration for them and others closer to the date but basically I am praying for all to return safely without injury and without post traumatic stress disorder, hearing loss etc. I use Psalm 91 mostly and found an excellent resource in a book called Battlefied prayers-pocket guide ISBN 097650101-5 as well as the prayer cards from Nav press. Ideas from you? Pat
  • Thanks Pat for such a quick response. I will be lifting up your son and his unit. They need us and I am willing to stay on my knees. God is doing a tremendous shaking for the nation to come back to Him. I will be praying Psalm 91 as well in agreement with you. Prayerfully others will join us as we stand in the gap for our troops. Acts 17:28 states "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being. Our children are more than conquers. We are overcomers by the blood of the lamb and by the Word of our testimonies. We can pray together and we can fast together but we will not be distracted by the enemy. The kingdom suffers violence but the violence takes it back by force. Tell your son, to be encourage and stand firm in God. God is His Shield, Fortress and Refugee. He will always have a hedge of protection around him because we are praying over him and my daughter. It's selfless act that they are doing and I am so grateful to God that they were bold enough to go forth and protect the country. God gave them this task.

  • Verleria;
    Good thinking. So what is your daughters name and branch and where is she now? My son is a marine in the war training phase now. He is very pleased to go. Personally I am very proud of him but have had some difficulty sleeping about what is coming up. I have chosen to go to a higher place in trust of God like never before. How has it been for you? Pat
  • Hi Pat, My daughter is in the Army. She is in the reserve. She's been in a little over a year. Here name is Teneisha Baker. She is here with me in Oklahoma City, stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. She only reports onece a month at this time. They are suppose to go to Afghanistan in 2011. She is my baby girl so its very hard to release her at such a young age. She Is 19. She finished high school and is now in college and the army national guard reservie. God reminds us daily in Jereimiah 29:11-For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord, pland to propser you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a futhre. Jeremiah 29:12-13-The you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. YOu will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I rely wholeheartedly on this promise. Even while they were in our wombs God had a plan. It's comforting to know that God can. She's saved too. I feel sorry for those that are not saved and are in the military because they trusting in themselves. Our children are leaning on the Lord. He is their strength, refugee and guid. My problem is that I will lay her before the Lord but i get in the way of what God chooses to do because that's my baby but she was His first. Just remember God is not slack in His promises and there is nothing too hard for Him. The hardest time that I have went through with her is at boot camp. She couldnt communicate the way that I thought she should but God pull me through it. Have a blessed evening and May God richly bless you. Verleria
  • Hi Verleria;
    Some days got away from me as I went to work.Good scripture reminders. My son Michael will be back next week for a 5 day break then off to Calif then over to afghanistan. There are so many emotions that engulf one. Unfortunately i work in the mental health field and see some of the aftermath. It will keep me praying. what job does your daughter do in the reserves? Pat
  • My daughter works in supply. She seems quite content in my field. I am very uncomfortable with the the government is so shaky. I believe they are sending innocent men and women over their to fight when we should be making peace with one another. I honor those who are willing give their life like Christ did. I cover them with the blood of Jesus. I continue to pray for their families and friends. God gave me a Word today. It only took one Word and one touch from HIM. My Word was to persevere.Hebrews 10:35-36-states Do no throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere.so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.

    My children are my promise-He will do a great work in them and through. They have great work to do for the kingdom of God.

    Everyone that prays for our military troops will be blessed and increase will be in their lives. Whatever they need will be give to them as they pray. God is good. Remember we walk by faith not by sight.
