GUIDE FOR A ONE HOUR PRAYER VIGIL
- Pray for an hour (60 minutes) with 6 prayer movements in 10 minute segments.
- Scripture fed. Spirit led prayer.
- Use the Bible to pray God’s Word back to Him.
- Like to jot notes, journal? Add a notebook.
- Inspired by hymns, Christian songs? Load your smart phone; play as you mediate and pray.
- Sing your prayer.
- Pray as you transition to another location in the church.
- Pray with the person who follows you.
MOVEMENT 1 - FOCUS ON GOD’S ATTRIBUTES (Begin in the sanctuary/worship center)
Pray by exalting the character of God. Below are some traits along with Scripture. Pray these back to the Father.
Holy - Isaiah 6:3
Faithful - 1Cor. 10:13
Patient - 2 Peter 3:9
Creator - Genesis 1:1
Good - James 1:17
Love - John 3:16
Caring - Matthew 6:26
Truth - Numbers 23:19
Perfect - Psalm 18:30

Uniquely Sovereign - Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Unchanging - Micah 3:6

Minute of Silence - Allow God to communicate with you before you move on to the next movement.
MOVEMENT 2 - FOCUS ON GOD’S CHILD (YOU) (Move to the altar for self-reflection)
We need to look within ourselves and ask God to reveal any areas of sin that may hinder our relationship with Him and with others.
Self-examination - 1 Corinthians 11:28
Search me - Psalm 139:23-24
Reveal sin - Job 13:23
Examine me - Psalm 26:2
Examine my faith - 2 Corinthians 13:5
Return to the Lord - Lamentations 3:40

Minute of Silence - Allow God to reveal an area of life where repentance is needed.
MOVEMENT 3 - FOCUS ON GOD’S PEOPLE (Move to fellowship/gathering area)
Pray for one another in God’s household so that we reflect the image of Christ in our lives and have guidance concerning the direction of the congregation.
Spiritual battle - Ephesians 6:10-18
Forgiveness - Matthew 6:14-15
Spiritual Growth - Colossians 1:9
Confession of Sin - James 5:19
Live in peace - Hebrews 12:14
Intercession - 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Spiritual well-being - Matthew 18:15-18
Unity - 1 Corinthians 1:10
Christlikeness - Colossians 3:12-13
Others first - Philippians 2:3-4
Minute of Silence - Allow God to show you how to be a peacemaker and unifier.
MOVEMENT 4 - FOCUS ON GOD’S LEADERS (Move to staff offices/study area)
Pray for our church leaders - Pastor Staff, Children’s Director Courtney, Deacons, Worship Team, Ops Team, Finance Team, Trustees, SS/Youth Teachers and Leaders, Community Group Facilitators and Hosts
Faithfulness - Psalm 89:1
Provision - Luke 12:6-7
Wisdom & Direction - Proverbs 3:5-7; James 1:5
Fellowship - Psalm 133

Pray for the lost in our church families, our community, and our missionary partnerships.

Great Commission - Matthew 28:18-20
Minute of Silence - Allow God to give you specific names to pray for.
MOVEMENT 6 - FOCUS ON GOD’S BLESSINGS (Return to sanctuary/worship center)
As you enter into this last movement of prayer, give thanks to the Lord with a grateful heart for His blessings in your life.
