  • The DVD "Faith like Potatoes" – the true story of Andrew Buchan who lives in S Africa, and the miracles he's had in his life since giving his heart to Jesus at a Methodist Church. Very inspiring, and very encouraging to one's faith walk.
This would be movie length in ( time frame). Sorry, if this isn't brief enough but a "must see."

  • Audio clip (no video) but useful for focusing on Thanksgiving.

    THANKSGIVING - STEVE DOUGLASS
What comes to mind when you think of Thanksgiving? Time spent with family and friends? Or perhaps turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie? Hear the story of five corn kernels on today's Lighthouse Report.

  • I try to inspire to be thankful for other humans in their lives, especially those who are overlooked. Here are a couple of GREAT ones. The first is called "Beauty", and since it is wordless, it works well in any language. Since it is an artsy film short, it fits into any length of program, and it can be interpreted in different ways too: being thankful for kindness, for grace, for redemption, as well as for people who show us the grace of God and bring our lives into living color.

This next one is called "Carlos". It's a bit longer than "Beauty", and has minimum text & dialogue, so it's best in English but also "translates" excellently. I won't even try to explain this one, it's enough to say I weep every time I see it (still!). Also a "short film". The fun CGI bumper at the end betrays the sermon series it was created for, but if you just omit that last 10 or 15 seconds, it will work in any setting. And you can put your own spin on that final bumper too, there's no church information or dates or anything in it. Plus I love the music (the haunting music in the film, and the bumper music at the end too).

  • Phil, I do not know if it's ok to share, so check with Presidential Prayer Team (online ministry) since it's their stuff. I added two songs, a slide and some words to some of the ppts for use with my small group and family.

The historical Presidents' Song is their song and came with one slide, but is not formatted to be heard on the other slide, so I added my two songs....these are not mine, but well known songs. You might have to get composer's ok to share them...or just eliminate them in ppt program.

Let me know what you think and if you get the nec. permissions, then would we all be able to forwart them to our friends and families? or use them in our churches? We have CCLI license.

    • I'm not familiar with their posting guidelines. Usually, if you simply link to their site (not attaching it to your post), it is not a problem.

      Hope this helps,

  • When issues of life are difficult--it can be hard to be thankful. The attached 'Prayer Minute' shares a focus that I have personally had to learn.

    • Lewis,

Have you thought of starting a group called prayer minute and posting your catalogue of .wmv files -- or, posting a new one every day or week similar to what Steve Hall has done (he sends an internal email to everyone in the group every day) -?

      My Friends in Jesus,

Let us praise and honor Jesus, the Hope of Glory. And, let us pray that we and His whole Church will know the fullness of His glorious riches. All glory to Jesus!

      THE HOPE OF GLORY
November 23 Colossians 1:25-27 I (Paul) have become its (the Church’s) servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness—the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
