Dear Prayer Movement Leader,
A few days ago, we marked the 240th anniversary of America's first nationwide "Call to Fall." On June 12, 1775, the 2nd Continental Congress declared a Day of Public "Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer" for the citizens of all 13 colonies, urging them to gather in their churches on July 20th to pray for America. The clash of arms in Lexington and Concord just weeks earlier, marked the beginning of war with Great Britain. Only God could empower the colonies to defend themselves and prevail against the most powerful nation on earth. When God's people fell to their knees that July day and cried out with desperate pleas to the God of Armies, they did not know that out of that conflict America would become the greatest, most God-blessed nation in history!
Afterward, Sam Adams received a letter from his friend, James Warren, "This fast has been observed as you could wish… with that devotion that our circumstances require… a grand solemnity. Three millions of people on their knees at once, supplicating the aid of Heaven… May the blessings of Heaven follow in answer to our prayers."
We desperately need such a Call2Fall today! God tells us precisely what to do when our nation has turned its back on God (1 Chron. 7:14; Joel 1:13-14; 2:12-18). That's why Tony launched this initiative in 2009 (Read Tony's story HERE).
Call2Fall is just 11 days away, Sunday, June 28th. The following day, perhaps before, the U.S. Supreme Court will issue its ruling either to uphold or overturn state laws defining marriage as between a man and woman. You are among the Christian leaders in America with whom we have a relationship. You know Tony Perkins and FRC. Will you help us spread the word during these closing days? Please:
1) Sign up your yourself, your church or ministry to Host Call2Fall if you haven't already!
2) Visit Call2Fall.com; look over the site and download the Pastor's Tool Kit. Put together primarily for pastors, it is full of ready to use web banners and notices and other tools to help you get the word out;
3) Use your own network of praying men and women to ask them to get the word out to communicate with other pastors;
4) Ask the your praying network to visit Call2Fall.com and to participate and ask them to tell friends aboutCall2Fall. Ask them to "Like" us on Facebook; and use other social media to spread the word;
5) Use your ministry Web page, FB page and other social media to highlight June 28th Call2Fall!
6) If you don’t have time to do more, please just forward this letter to your list. That would be a huge help!
7) And please make sure your pastor gets the word ASAP. Ask him to lead your church in the Cal2fall 2 Sundays from now.
God will use many catalysts, but who cares more about our nation responding to God in this way, than the intercessors who are committed to standing in the gap for our nation, clinging to the Lord’s promise of His national forgiveness and healing in 2 Chron. 7:14. But that promise begins with a big, big "IF." We support all of the great works God is doing to call God’s people in America to pray. We support them all. Our nation is in a state of emergency. Please work with us on this important effort!
Visit the Website, download the Pastor's Tool Kit. Please interrupt your schedule, if necessary, to make this a priority. Our nation is in deep, deep trouble. Our hope is that the spirit of Call2Fall will become a lifestyle for the churches across America, that God will hear our cries, and heal our land.
