ReCenterCHRIST:Now
Here’s a tailored summary of the ChristNOW website – especially oriented for pastors, church leaders and those cultivating Christ-centered ministry – with reflections on how it might integrate into your broader agenda of discipleship, renewal and leadership.
1. Who’s behind it & core vision
-
The site is led by David Bryant (founder/creative director) – he has been a pastor, involved in national prayer movements and is now driving ChristNOW as a platform for what he calls a “Christ Awakening.” Exalt Jesus
-
The tagline: “Inspiring, equipping and serving … The NEW American Revolution … An American CHRIST Awakening. ‘America, Awake to Christ for ALL he is!’” ChristNOW
-
The key concept: A “Christ Awakening” defined as “when God’s Spirit uses God’s Word to reintroduce God’s people to God’s Son for ALL he is.” Or more simply: when a person or church “becomes fully alive to the full extent of the supremacy of Christ.” ChristNOW
For your context:
As someone passionate about re-imagining discipleship and church leadership, this vision aligns with a radical Christ-centric renewal. The emphasis is not simply on better programs or church growth, but on re-awakening the supremacy and fullness of Christ within the life of the believer and the church.
2. Major content & resource categories
Here are the key content strands (with flags for how you as a leader might use them):
| Resource Type | What it is | Potential Use in Church/Ministry |
|---|---|---|
| E-books (free) such as Christ Is NOW!, Christ Is ALL!, Messengers of Hope. ChristNOW | Foundational theology about Christ’s reign, supremacy, identity. | Good for small-group reading, leadership retreat intros, sermon series foundations. |
| Video/Audio Training – e.g., The Christ Institutes Video Series (“WHY Do We Celebrate the Supremacy of Christ”, “HOW Do We Celebrate…”). ChristNOW | Structured teaching modules. | Could be incorporated into clergy/spiritual formation tracks, or leader equipping settings. |
| 365 Daily Devotions, Podcasts (Daily CHRIST TODAY w/ David Bryant), Teaching Videos. ChristNOW+1 | Ongoing spiritual formation resources. | Use for individual discipline, or offer as “daily feed” for staff/leaders, or create church-wide reading/listening plans. |
| Christ Awakening Servant Teams Manual / Campaign tools ChristNOW | Tools for mobilizing groups toward “awakening” themes. | Could serve as framework for a church renewal initiative, or for launching a “Christ-Awakening” track in your congregation. |
| Blog posts / Current-events commentary – e.g., “Why do you call it an ‘American’ Christ Awakening? Can it really heal a whole nation?” ChristNOW | Addressing culture, mission, theology. | Useful for leader reflection, sermon quotes, or writing prompts for a leadership team. |
3. Key theological and missional themes
From the material on the site, several recurring themes emerge which are likely to resonate with your interest in deep discipleship and church renewal:
-
Christological centrality: The focus is not just on “Jesus saves” but on “Christ rules” — the supremacy, fullness, reign of Christ as central to life, church and mission. ChristNOW+1
-
Awakening / renewal vocabulary: The concept of “awakening” (akin to revival, reform, restoration) applied not only to individuals but to congregations, cities, nations. ChristNOW+1
-
Church as movement rather than institution: The site talks about “servant teams,” “campaigns,” “awakening,” indicating a dynamic, mission-oriented posture rather than static maintenance. ChristNOW
-
Resources for transformation not just information: The promise is that these aren’t just theological treats but practical tools for “growing a larger vision of and greater passion for our Lord Jesus… and empowering you to help others do the same.” ChristNOW
-
Cultural engagement & national vision: While grounded in local church contexts, there is a broader horizon of societal impact (“American CHRIST Awakening,” “renewal of our land,” etc.). ChristNOW+1
4. Strengths & possible caveats for pastoral use
Strengths
-
Free, easily accessible resources – good for budget-conscious ministries.
-
Clear lens on Christ-centred identity — helpful when you’re helping leaders re-anchor ministry around ‘Christ for ALL he is’.
-
Good fit for leadership development, disciple-making emphasis, church renewal initiatives.
-
Multi-media approach (ebooks + video + audio + devotional) allows diverse learning styles.
Caveats / Questions
-
The framing is quite broad and grand (national campaign, awakening language) — you may need to adapt it for your specific church culture rather than going full “national movement” mode.
-
The language of “awakening” and “movement” may require careful contextualization so that it doesn’t feel hyper-programmatic or disconnected from everyday ministry realities of your congregation.
-
The theology emphasizes Christ’s supremacy — which is very strong and valuable — but you may need to ensure that other dimensions (community, service, discipleship, justice) also get concrete attention for your context.
-
As with any external resource library, vet the materials for theological alignment with your denominational/tradition statements and suitability for your congregation.
5. How a pastor or church leader could integrate it into ministry
Here are some practical ways you (Phil) or a leadership team might leverage ChristNOW in your context of crafting discipleship, blog/podcast content, frameworks, etc.:
-
Leadership retreat focus: Use one of the video modules (e.g., “WHY Do We Celebrate the Supremacy of Christ”) as pre-reading/viewing for your leadership team, then workshop around its implications for your church’s mission, values, culture.
-
Discipleship track design: Pull from the ebooks (“Christ Is NOW!”, etc) and devotions to build a 6-8-week small-group track around “Becoming fully alive to Christ” — include reflection prompts, action steps (your usual style).
-
Sermon series launch: Use the “Christ Awakening” idea as the launch of a seasonal emphasis (e.g., “Awakened to Christ”) where sermons, small groups, ministry teams coordinate around deepening Christ-centric identity.
-
Podcast/blog content: Since you co-host podcasts and engage with music/culture history, you could interview David Bryant or reflect on the idea of “awakening to Christ” in a culture that is saturated with distractions — tie it to your beach-boys/faith/music intersections.
-
Leader vision-casting: Share the “servant teams manual” or “campaign tools” with your deacons or ministry leaders as a way to mobilize the congregation not just inward, but outward—to service, mission, cultural engagement.
-
Assessment & diagnostic use: Use the thinking behind “Are we awake to the supremacy of Christ?” as a diagnostic lens in your leadership labs or workshops — ask: “How much is our ministry shaped around Christ’s reign vs our agenda?”

An American CHRIST Awakening:
Steve Hall
International Renewal Ministries
If not now, when? If there ever was a time when the Church in America (and the world) needs to awaken to the infinite supremacy of Christ and the boundless HOPE we have in Him, surely it is NOW!
David Bryant—and many others—calls it a "CHRIST Awakening." One definition I love is this: "When God's Spirit uses God's Word to re-introduce and re-enchant God's people with God's Son and the glory of all He is today."
While reading in Luke 24, I've been meditating on the encounter Jesus had with two of His disciples after His resurrection. He joined them as they were walking on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus. Luke says the disciples’ hearts burned within them as Jesus revealed to them that the Scriptures they were reading were speaking about Him!
If not now, when? WE need such a revelation—an awakening, a revival, a Christward spiritual renewal—that’s burning in us and among us as God’s people in America! Just as much, our unsaved friends, relatives, and neighbors desperately need the abundant life (John 10:10) and hope that will overflow from us as we become awakened to more and more of Jesus—and live daily in the reality of our growing intimacy with Him in His supremacy! Can I get an AMEN?
If not now, when? David recently released a book called The Hour Has Come. This free eBook is available to everyone at https://christnow.com/the-hour-has-come/. Would you please download and read it soon, especially the Introduction and the chapter about Christ Awakening Servant Teams (CASTs)?
What do you believe the Spirit is ready to do—in you and me, in our families, congregations, neighborhoods, ministries, communities, and nation—IF multitudes of us unite in awakening to and living in much more of the supremacy of our risen, reigning Lord Jesus Christ?
If not now, when? At this very moment, this revolutionary promise of 2 Corinthians 4:6 waits to be more fully manifested in whole new ways, in and among Jesus followers across America today:
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6, KJV).
