17 Be good to Your servant,
that I may live and obey Your word.
18 Open my eyes to see
the wonderful truths in Your instructions and laws.
19 I am only a stranger on the earth.
Do not hide Your commands from me!
20 I am often crushed and overwhelmed
with a desire for Your ordinances.
21 You rebuke my arrogance,
when I wander away from Your commands.
22 Lord, don’t let scorn and insult affect me,
for I have obeyed Your laws.
23 Even though people sit and speak against me,
I will meditate on Your decrees.
24 Your laws, Your testimonies are my delight;
they give me wise advice and wise counsel.
