LONDON, ENGLAND (ANS) -- The national mission movement HOPE is working with Church leaders of all denominations, calling the whole Church to be part of a national weekend of prayer and fasting -- All Praying Together from 7-9 September. Global Day of Prayer London is bringing Christians together for the National Day of Prayer and Worship at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 29 September.
Roy Crowne, HOPE's executive director, said: 'Plans for the All Praying Together weekend began at the HOPE Leaders' Forum in 2011 when Pastor Agu of Jesus House called for united prayer and fasting for the nation. When we heard about plans for the National Day of Prayer and Worship at Wembley, it seemed natural to link the two. We must be listening to the same Holy Spirit; prayer seems to be on God's agenda for the Church at this time. 'All Praying Together is for everyone - individuals and churches, fasting and praying where they are; the National Day of Prayer and Worship brings people together in one place. HOPE's vision is that churches will be doing more mission together, in words and actions, and using key moments in the Christian calendar to build a rhythm of mission. But we know that effective mission is built on a rock of prayer, and without prayer our greatest efforts have little effect or meaning. 'HOPE is delighted to partner with GDOP London on this; let's be praying as well as responding to needs in our villages, towns and cities.' HOPE has released a range of All Praying Together resources, contributed by partners in various denominations and ministries to make sure that Christians of every age and worship style can join this movement of prayer. The All Praying Together video encourages churches to get involved.
