A time to pray...

There has never been a time for prayer as today.  So much is happening the whole world over, that it seems as if there is the over abundance of natural disasters, that are happening too fast to count.  Lost of human life takes place on a daily basis, to the point that people have become desensitised. We hear of hurricanes, tornados, floodings, landslides, and so many other disasters happening each, and every day.

As people of God, this should be of great concern to us as the Bible lets us know that God will intervene in the affairs of this world, if we would stand in the Gap, and make up the Hedge with prayer.  II Chronicles 7:14 tells us what God will do if His people would just pray, and live His way. It was relevant then, and is still relevant today.

Upon His departure, Jesus prayed, in the book of St. John the 17 chapter, for his disciples, and those who would come after them to continue in the steps of our Lord, and Savior. He prayed for God to keep His people while we are in the world. The work of Evangelization must, and will contnue, and at the same time, God has equipped us to bring forth changes, as we walk in the Spirit on this earth.

Therfore, let us be spiritually alert on the earth, and let us live a life that reflects Christ in us which is the hope of glory. We are not to despair as we see the things that are coming upon the earth, but we should be able to let the world know, that the best is yet to come. We are living to live again, and Christ is the firmest foundartion of all.

Finally, let us continue in prayer; for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous still avails much. God does hear and answers the prayers of His people.

Here is wishing everyone a very Happy, and Blessed Thanksgiving Day. There is so much to be thankful to God for  each and every day. Therefore, as we celebrate this holiday, let us give God thanks for the many things He does for us daily, but most of all for His prescious gift of Salvation.

Let us also use this tme, to be Salt, and light in the earth, that we might win many to Christ, and at the same time, be an encouragement to our brothers, and sisters in Christ. Let us be on the alert spiritually, that we might use every ocassion to further the preaching of the Gospel of God's kingdom.

May you all enjoy your day, and may God richly bless you, is our earnest prayer.

God's Word...

I believe that God's Word, the Bible, is innerant, and that it is the most important piece of equipment in the life of a child of God. Outside of the Bible, there is no knowledge of God, therefore, it is important for us to read God's Word daily, for this is how we get to know Him.

While nature itself points to the fact that there is a God, we only get to know Him on a personal basis, by reading His Word. It is the Bible that lets us know that we can communicate with God through prayer, and our spirit can grow and flourish only by feeding from the Word of God, which is our Daily Bread.

We get to know of our need for salvation through Jesus Christ, only by the Word of God. In fact, all that we need as people of God is found in the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh (The living Bible, or God becoming man), and the Bible is the source of all we need to know concerning Him.

For these, and so many other reasons, it is imperative for us to read our Bible every day, and as we seek to evangalize, and disciple, let us keep in mind always, the imortance of the Word of God. It is fresh to us each day, and there is something new to be gotten as we read daily. Let us always be mindful of the importance of Bible reading, and studying in our daily lives, and as we do the work God has entrusted in our hands.

New Year's Resolutions?

Some time ago, I decided to stop making new year's resolutions.  I had been faithfully making resolutions, and watched as year after year, I failed to follow through with much of them.  I then would make the same ones the next year, and on, and on, with no success.

I prayerfully.decided instead, to begin to set realistic goals for myself, and then create a journal of my activities as per these goals.  At year's end, I am able to go over the journal, and see where I've been successful, and where I have failed to live up to my goals.

This has worked for me, and I am able to see where I have grown spiritually, and the areas where more prayer, and discipline are needed.  It is a great way to keep track of the important things in my life that matters, and certainly helps me to be more purposeful in prayer.

The best way to begin the year, for those of us who trust in God, is to invite Him into every area of our lives.  Therefore this is always the number one goal, for it is only with His guidance and direction, that we are able to accomplish anything.

So, as we enter this new year, let us begin by focusing our eyes on Jesus, as He is the one that begins, and ends faith.
