Dear brothers and sistrs, I just got word a couple of days ago that our housing voucher will expire at the end of October.My only income is a meager SSI check each month and a little extra money from my son. (My rent is $600.00 and that olone exceeds my check.) My husband works 4 -6 days a month at a min. wage job.We need a miracle in Jesus' name.

Keys to a good ministry

Prayer should always come first. All ministry is a divine appointment and should therfore be surrendered to the Lord. This begins with prayer. We also need to pray that He would put us in the path of those lives who need to be reached out to.The second most important factor in any ministry is listening to others. The Lord said "be quick to listen, slow to speak" (James1:19). this means everything to the brokenhearted.

Linda, thank you for asking me to be a friend. I'm not certain how we're to communicate with each other on Pray Network. I notice your ministry with the mentally ill andthe homeless. The Lord helps me function every day as I have schizophrenia thatis controlled by meds. I volunteer at our local homeless shelter every Monday afternoon. Yours in Christ--Carole Sprague

Hi Linda - thanks for the 'friending' :-) My former pastor just sent me the invite to this forum today which was yet another 'God breeze' since I've been really pursuing the practice of intercessory prayer of late. I just finished reading a book by Melanie Hemry - 'A Healing Touch: the Power of Prayer' that I recommend. I learned a lot from it.
