This Scripture Drives/Directs My #Reimagine Journey
Luke 13:6-9 The tree is the "one" I am meeting with. I fertilize and water it as necessary, and God causes the growth.
Your First-Step-Suggestion to Us on How to Begin a Journey to Reimagine Disciple-Making? [ Tweet-Sized (280 characters) ]
The goal is to begin meeting with one. If you can meet with more, that is okay; but the goal is to meet with one. Where do you find this "one?" Where do you go where you interact with the most people? Church? Work? Life group? Bible study? Ask yourself this: "Who do I know here that I can meet with?" (Men with men, women with women. They do not need to be age or spiritually younger than you.) Pray about that "one" and your meeting. Approach that "one" and ask: "Would you be willing to meet with me to talk about Jesus/the spiritual life/the Bible?" Set a time and place for getting together (this does not have to be at the church building). You MUST be faithful to be at that place at that time. You must always bring your Bible, pen or pencil, and notebook.
How I Discovered Discipleship.Network
Through The Navigators
Churches are closed! Groups limited to no more than 10! What are we to do? This morning I gathered with a group of six (including myself). We talked about this very thing. When Church doors close, as they have during this emergency, what are the parishioners to do?1) Some will put their Bibles on the shelf and turn to watch Netflix/Pureflix/Disney+.2) Some will watch pod-casts and other visual materials acting like shut-ins.3) Some will worry and say, "I don't want to catch this plague!" 4)…

On 26Sep20 we held a discipleship event called Off the Bench, Into the Game (OBIG). There were 26 in attendance. I, as ministry leader, did not lead or teach a lesson; in fact, I went for pizza.
I've been training several guys in group facilitation. When we planned OBIG, at the outset I appointed a main facilitator and a helper for the two lessons we were presenting which were "Time Alone with God" and "Assurance of Forgiveness." They did all the research, lesson planning, and…

What is discipleship?
I was recently encouraged by comments from Kyle, whom I'm discipling. While Kyle was in an overseas military location, he met Christian, whom I had spent time with one-on-one several years before meeting Kyle. As they talked, Christian said, "I've followed what Dave suggested and its made a difference in how I've lived for Jesus."
It gives me no greater joy than to know my children are walking with Jesus. (3 John 1:4)
Recently, 85 men and women from 7 military bases attended a Discipleship Practicum Retreat. There was no main speaker, there was no formal band, and there was no comedian to hype up the crowd before we got started. There was, however, a Testimony Scavenger Hunt, four workshops, a fun night and a close-out session.
Friday night we held a Testimony Scavenger Hunt where we practiced giving our Jesus stories to each other. Everyone was given a sheet of paper with twenty categories, being…
Recently I asked a man and his wife, "What is your Jesus story?"
The husband answered, "What?"
I asked, "How did you come into relationship with Jesus?"…
As I have been teaching and leading Bible study and discipling one-on-one, I have found that Jesus followers find it difficult to talk with each other about their relationship with Jesus. Wanting to reverse this, I made changes in the way the Tuesday Night Teachings (TNT) Bible study group is led.
Several years ago I was leading a study in the Gospel of John, and was…
