Using Isaiah 61:1 and Matthew 25:36 as our mandate, we explore ways of reaching the incarcerated and ex-offender for the cause of Christ.

  • It has been a while since I have been here.

For our ministry, this is ministry weekend.

    Please pray for us.

  • Again, welcome to all!  Thank you for sharing your various techniques.  My question is this, how do you incorporate your program into teachings at a detention center where the stay is short until transfer to another facility or released?

I love the post-released mentoring that was mentioned!

  • My wife Jeri and I are leaders with Celebrate Recovery in Chester, California - praying to be able to take CR into prisons of Plumas and Lassen Counties - blessings, Larry

  • The videos on the site are breathtaking. We have found that effective fathering is an attraction in the prison that many men respond to. Most of them had deficient or no father role models, and have no idea on how to be the dad their kids need. Malachi Dads jumps off from this concern. In Chester County, PA, we use the Inside Out Dads curriculum from the National Fatherhood Initiative. http://www.fatherhood.org/

  • Thank you for sharing.  This seems like a very good program, especially since it is connected to the AWANA program which we have in our church.

  • We are adapting the Malachi Dads model to the county jail, by adding post-release mentoring. http://awanalifeline.org/#/media/videos-photos

  • Assuming that all of you are in prison ministry, how do you share the Gospel with inmates?  The group I'm with will be exploring the wheel technique by the Navigator's.

  • How do you know that he is innocent?

  • how do you talk to a prisoner who is innocent and you know he is innocent
  • These are just some thoughts to ponder and to discuss.

Can I be trusted to bring His Word to inmates?

Am I studying to show myself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth?” 2 Timothy 2:15

Am I promoting myself or am I promoting Jesus Christ?

Am I faithful to my ministry? (There are so many things that I can be involved in.)

Am I practicing 1 Corinthians 13 in my ministry?

Is my lifestyle matching up with what I teach in the jail?

    Do I dress modestly?

When a team mate is teaching, do I try to limit my comments to an appropriate pause? Do I try to take over the lesson of the one who is teaching thinking that I can do better?

If I am in disagreement with my ministering partner’s viewpoint, do I voice my concern in the unit or do I pray?

Am I in tune to the leading of the Holy Spirit?

Am I intimidated by another’s teaching style? Or am I comfortable with what God has given to me?

How to conduct Prison Ministry Discipleship

Matthew 5:16  "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."   The light that we as Believers have from Christ, should be shining so brightly in us, that the ones we disciple should see more of our Father, and less of us.     What are your views?
