Hi, I just joined this group. I'm one of the coordinators for the NDOP in Brown County Ohio and wanted to know what some of you do to get more church participation in your area. It seems that churches should show a united front in this effort and yet many of them opt to do their own thing within their church walls instead of making a public showing.

You are not alone. Personal visits to service is easiest way to meet the pastor and to inquire if they have a prayer leader that you could meet. Ask if they have participated in the National Day of Prayer. The Pastor's attitude will give you an indication of where to expend more effort. You can offer to provide information or to come and speak about the National Day of Prayer. Womens groups are most welcoming, I find. If they don't have a prayer leader, ask about women's ministry leader. I have left cards all over my city. Still it is difficult to penetrate their walls. The longer you are around and are persistent the easier it gets. Praying for you.
