Movement Day
Rate Alert from City Advance colleague Tom White ~
Movement Day, an annual, cutting-edge consultation of city gospel movement leaders in New York City, Thursday, October 29.
The "early, early bird" registration of $119 for this fall's Movement Day ends this Monday, June 8. Even if you can't land on a decision on this by Monday, please give it serious consideration.
The best way to get value out of Movement Day is to bring a team from your citywide movement (whether emerging/early stage, or existing). In addition to the inspiration of great plenary speakers like Tim Keller, here are some "value added" components this year:
*The three hour afternoon Gospel Movement Track, featuring two city movements, Kansas City and Spartanburg, SC (Kevin Palau and Tom White are co-facilitators)
*Sit in on the "10 City Covenant" Group, Wednesday morning, Oct 28, larger cities that have met for all 5 years of Movement Day. This year two West Coast cities will present, Seattle and San Francisco.
*Exposure to the "100 City Initiative" (Wednesday afternoon), an opportunity for your city to join with others in an expression of biblical justice contextually relevant to your community.

We have been very encouraged by the growing participation of city network leaders over the past five years at the Movement Day event held in NYC. As Cru, we host a private dinner for friends and partners, bringing some of the best speakers into our midst to challenge and equip us. We are helping catalyze leadership teams from America's largest cities to serve their cities more effectively by advancing high-level, city-changing collaborative partnerships. There is tremendous momentum afoot, particularly in how leaders are advancing the Gospel together to reach our cities for Christ through strategic collaboration. Because your leadership is vital in the work that God is doing in your city, we would love to have you join us in NYC for what is sure to be a great investment - on Wednesdayevening and all-day Thursday, October 28 & 29, 2015 for this year's events. We have enormous respect for you and all that you are achieving in our city and want to encourage you to both attend and use these two events in a fruitful way. Here some crucial information about the events: Attend the City Movement Conveners Dinner on Wednesday, October 28 (the speaker - likely Ray Bakke this year, dinner and program is free of charge but requires an RSVP as space is limited) Attend the Movement Day event on Thursday, October 29 (8am-5pm). We'd encourage you to choose a "Track" we've designed under the dropdown "Evangelism." The title of our track is: The Changing Face of Evangelism and the Well-being of Cities. Our track has the following goals: 1. Identifying and addressing barriers to modern day evangelism - theological, social, cultural and practical. 2. Introduce CoJourner- a spiritual journey-based, equipping paradigm for conversational evangelism with practical 'Explorer' tools to help believers engage effectively with those with whom they rub shoulders. 3. Provide two online follow-up opportunities for coaching and mentoring beyond the track. 4. Help participants to think comprehensively and lead effective evangelism efforts in their city. {For more information and to register for our track and for Movement Day, please visit www.MovementDay.com. The early bird registration deadline is June 8 ($119).} Bring other leaders with you and take advantage of an environment designed to increase missional effectiveness, invest in your leadership development and create collaborative opportunities. Feel free to send this invitation on to friends and colleagues, mentioning that you're going. Please reply to Amy Karst at amy.karst@cru.org with your RSVP or with any questions you may have. Thank you for considering this leadership opportunity, Dave Robinson
