Recently, I have wondered about this question.  What I have seen is pastors not really understanding intercessory ministry of individuals for what ever reason, including lack of training on prayer in our seminaries.  Most seminaries have less than three courses in prayer, and usually none or only one.  Prayer has not been dropped, but integrated in many curriculums of courses and that waters down a focus on prayer in their studies.  Perhaps I am wrong on this conclusion and I am willing to be corrected.

I sense that it is probable that pastors would rather accept the ministry of intercession as a team, rather than from individuals.

Perhaps some of you have a different experience and would be willing to share that experience and what factors contributed to it.
