What Holds Intercessors Back in Worship--
Some intercessors are very much into worship, while others find various issues in situations that keep them from deeply entering into worship. It is as if the issue has personally affected them and they must release it through prayer before they can fully join in worhsip.
Have any of you experienced this?
I will share two items that have affected my ability to worship.
1. I have found that often I sense when something is not right. The people involved may know that what they did may be keeping someone from coming to Jesus-and they are one whom that offense is through, but do not realize how what they did cause the offense.
2. Personally, I feel bottled up when the are not listened to. Not being listened to, is a way of showing what they have sensed from the Lord is not valued. That includes no one encouraging me to pray. It causes me to bottle up what God has said to me for the purpose of following God's word, and that does not let fresh water flow.
There are more situations that have affected many of us. Perhaps the greater questions is--how do we release what we carry to the Lord so fresh water can flow from God's Holy Spirit encouraging us to pray even more and to worship?

Eddie Smith's reply took some deep thought and observation of intercessors over time. Being able to enter into worship is very important for an intercessor. There may be other reasons that keep us from being able to enter worship too. What is important that we as intercessors need to learn to let God have control--human tendency is to be in control ourselves. From my personal experience, that is difficult--but the Lord has recently shown me that on a prayer assignment he has given me.
For men--heart language is difficult, but necessary. Yes we have emotions--but to learn heart language--that is needed in intercession. That last statement may also be applicable to women too.
Perhaps someone might be willing to share a bit about how they learned to pray from the heart and enter into worship.--
Eddie Smith sent me the following thoughts about an area that can affect our ability to worship:
Some intercessors tend to take on "projects."
It's easy for them to see their pastor as a project,
their worship leader as a project, and such.
If that's the case, they may not have the heart-freedom
necessary to enter deeply into worship.
Now, allow me to point out that this condition is
often referred to as a critical spirit. But it is sometimes
disguised as a spiritual burden. We must all learn to
bare a burden, while releasing the solution to the Lord.
Everyone's broken. We must trust Him alone; and love
them as they are...which is what He does.
Blessings,
Eddie
