Breathing -- in spiritual matters and prayer

An area which has only limited teaching on is the area of breathing in relationship with God, and prayer as part of that relationship.

Recently, a dear friend shared with me what I was doing in asking a committee to take a week and seek the Lord on an issue before voting.  That taking a week is part of breathing, in this case probably breathing in what the Lord is telling you.

On the subject of relationship-we all can think of good fellowship around a dinner table--taking in food and talking with others.  The taking in of food is feeding--and we need it for nourishment.  When we study God's word we are taking in God's food which is nourishment.  However, there comes a point where we are stuffed.  When we breath in, there is only so much air we can take in, then we have to exhale to get more fresh air.  Job spoke of this in Job 32:20 (KJV)  I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.   There comes a point in our life where we have to speak or share with others so we can be refreshed.  If we hold it in, we do not get the fresh air that we need.  This, also, is what David was doing in many of his Psalms--exhaling so he could be filled with God's help.

When we as intercessors are seeking the Lord, it is important (1) to feed on God's word, (2) share what we have learned (Exhale), (3) then listen (Breath In ).

I would appreciate hearing from others on this subject.
