  • I am new to this group, and am also learning how to navigate around. Looking forward to participating. Blassings to all.

  • I am struggling to figure out how this network works.  I got a notice that someone else joined the group but can't find her post on here anywhere.  Please forgive if I do this wrong!!!!!

  • Hi Tammy! I am excited to get to know both of you better and to learn from you both. I learned in my study of Titus 2 that "older women" can most certainly mean chronological age but that all of us have areas of "younger" in us so we can actually learn from those younger than us. So we can all teach each other.

Beth, I so admire you for doing what you are doing with your aging parents. My mom is so in need of care but she refuses. And I am in Minnesota and she is in Tennessee. I need prayer for that department to be sure. My dad died 15 years ago and she remarried. That isn't going really well. She has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.

Where is here, Beth? Did I miss where you live?
  • I am so looking forward to getting to know those in this group better. i feel that this is one area where we women need to do better. We need to encourage one another and learn from one another. Not compete with each other.

I have been married for 27 years to my high school sweetheart, Terry. We have 3 grown daughters, age 22, 21 and 16. We also have a son a 5. Our oldest is married to a great Army man and they live in El Paso, TX. They have a daughter, our granddaughter. Our middle daughter runs her own restaurant. Daughter number 3 is learning to drive and is homeschooled, as well as our son. I love homeschooling. I am involved in a few ladies Bible studies and love it. Learning from other ladies is great.
  • We used a wonderful study guide published by AMG called "Woman to Woman". Can't recall the author's name right off the top of my head but it was excellent. We see the trend in our church to separate the older women from the younger--just by virtue of their place in life--and this was a great study for a mixture of ages, ranging from home-schooled teenagers to octogenerians.

My daughter has FIVE children, home-schools, AND works evenings as an adolescent psych nurse--a job to which she feels she has been called. When the kids were younger I was her primary "stand-in"--I did the home school when she wasn't around. Now, the oldest child has taken over that responsibility. So I think we have a lot in common, Beth.
  • So excited to find this group albeit "thee and me" at this point. I recently taught a ten-week Bible Study using this passage and learned so much. Eager to learn more and share what I have learned.
