Vancouver, Canada

  • ·       Canada Day, July 1 – Pray for teams that will be serving the community celebrations over Canada Day holidays, especially volunteer teams from Mississippi, California and Texas as they join hands with several churches and church plants to serve.
  • ·       2013 Vancouver Vision Tours – Pray for future tour on September 16-18 (sign-up deadline -Aug. 27). There will also be a Tour in November, final date pending. We currently have 103 potential Vision Tour participants on the Vision Tour E-mail list.
  • ·        Origin Church, Vancouver and International Student Ministry, University of British Columbia - Pray for Craig O’Brien, Peter Yoon, and Suzanne Perry who serve at the University of British Columbia, where 8500 International Students represent the largest international population of any university in North America.  Two-thirds of the 45,000 student-body are classified as second generation (born in Canada but parents born outside of Canada). Fifty-seven percent of the population on the UBC peninsula claim to be Atheist.
  • ·       Summer Missionaries - Pray for the ministry of the college students who are serving in metro Vancouver churches this summer.
  • ·       Canadian National Baptist Convention – Pray for messengers from CNBC churches who will be gathering in Saskatoon this week for the annual convention meeting.
  • ·       Church Planters and Other Ministers’ Housing Expenses – Pray for housing expenses for those who serve in metro Vancouver and on Vancouver Island.  The average family spends 60% of their income on housing.  The average rental expense is $2 per square foot.  One minister lives in a 650 foot apartment for $1300 per month. Affordable housing purchase begins from $450 to $500 per square foot. Because churches are new, young and un-trained, church planters and other ministers must raise all or most of their salary outside of their church/ministry.  Ministry expenses likewise must be raised outside of church giving. If you, your church, or association would like to be a financial partner, let me know and I will connect you.
  • ·       P2 Ministry – Pray for the P2 Ministry week of July 8-12 as 70+ students join hands with several church plants to reach out into their communities with the Gospel.
  • ·       The Crossings Church, Vancouver – Pray for the Amazing Race Event planned with the team from Prestonwood Baptist church, Plano, TX, on the weekend of July 12-15.
  • ·       The Connection Church, Maple Ridge – Pray for Pastor John as he contacts potential financial partners.
  • ·       Church on the Mountain,Whistler – Pray for this church as they seek a new pastor.
  • ·       The Bridge Church, Vancouver – Pray for “Reach for the Goal” Sports Camp, July 8-12.
  • ·       The Point Church, Burnaby  Pray for the Parenting Conference that will launch on July 4.  Give thanks for North Richland Hills Baptist Church (TX) who responded to the request from last month and provided funds to purchase a new Amplifier.
  • ·       Towers Baptist Church, Richmond – Pray for the Citywide block party at South Arm Park with the team from Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, TX onJuly 12-15.

  • ·       Steveston Village – Pray for Brad and Rhonda Forlow as they seek to raise the remainder of their salary support so they can move in August to plant a church in Steveston Village – population 24,000; no evangelical church.  If interested in joining their support team, let me know and I will connect you.
