Decision America Tour
Pray for the upcoming Supreme Court decision.

Dear Friend,

The Supreme Court is set to rule in June on whether same-sex marriage is a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. This is a monumental decision—it will rank as the most historic and far-reaching judgment of the 21st century.

Please pray now. Pray for the wisdom and counsel of God to work its way into the hearts and minds of the Supreme Court justices who are making this momentous ruling. If they decree same-sex marriage as the law of the land, there will be grave consequences—politically, culturally, and spiritually. The list below will help you pray specifically for each of the nine justices.

The very fact that the Supreme Court is considering this case reveals the depraved moral state of our nation—and the great need for Christians to boldly stand for God’s truth.

This is an example of why we’re launching the Decision America Tour in 2016. We’re going to call Christians in every state of the union to truly live out their faith and stand up for biblical principles, to stand with moral courage and not bend under our culture’s shifting winds. I want to see the church rise up in fervent prayer and bold action.

Thank you for joining us. If you haven’t signed up to be a part of your state’s prayer team, do that today. God hears and answers prayers! I am grateful for your support.

May God richly bless you,

Franklin Graham

Here’s how you can pray specifically for the nine Supreme Court justices:

Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.
Chief Justice Roberts was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2005. Pray that he will submit to Almighty God’s authority and lead the court to rule that marriage in America must remain as the Lord created it: between one man and one woman.

Justice Clarence Thomas
Justice Thomas has been a wise jurist and consistent defender of the Constitution. Pray that he will continue to stand as a voice of truth and wisdom in the face of vehement opposition from gay rights advocates.

Justice Elena Kagan
Justice Kagan officiated at a same-sex wedding for her former law clerk. In 2013, Kagan voted to strike down the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which stated that marriage is between a man and a woman. Please pray that she will see the danger of deciding to go against God’s law.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor
Justice Sotomayor voted to strike down the federal Defense of Marriage Act in 2013, and homosexual advocates consider her an ally in their fight to make same-sex marriage the law of the land. Pray that she would have the wisdom to know that as a society we cannot survive if we turn our back on God’s standards.

Justice Samuel Alito
Justice Alito seems to understand that ruling in favor of same-sex marriage would have far-reaching implications. Pray that Justice Alito will have wisdom and stand strong for what we know is God’s unchanging truth.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Justice Ginsburg has also presided at same-sex weddings and is considered a staunch ally by those who support same-sex marriage. Pray that her eyes would be opened to the truth of Scripture and that she would not be deceived by the arguments of those who seek to impose their “new morality” on our nation.

Justice Anthony Kennedy
Justice Kennedy may likely be the swing vote in the ruling. In the oral arguments phase a few weeks ago, he seemed to understand the vast implications if the court were to throw away the definition of marriage that has been around for millennia. Pray for him especially, that he will realize the folly in doing just that.

Justice Antonin Scalia
Justice Scalia was appointed to the court 29 years ago by President Reagan. Pray that the Lord will speak to his heart regarding the profound impact this decision will have on Bible-believing Christians in this country.

Justice Stephen G. Breyer
Justice Breyer was appointed to the court by President Clinton in 1994 and also voted to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act. Pray that God would give him wisdom and guide his mind as the court weighs this important issue.
