Dear Pastor...
I'm a pastor from Franklin, TN, but I'm writing you from Charlotte NC, where the Lord is forming a coalition of pastors, leaders and intercessors in fulfillment of a "suddenly" assignment He gave me just days ago...to lead a 400-mile prayerwalk-relay from Charlotte to Washington DC as a profound act of intercession for the healing of our nation.
To date, I've had the privilege of leading over 20,000 miles of prayerwalks across the length and breadth of the nation, alongside fellow-leaders as a catalytic voice for repentance-in-unity.
This prayerwalk-relay begins Sunday 10/16!
And in just a matter of days, God is putting it all together. There are already pastors from across the country making plans to join us.

AN INTERCESSORY PRAYERWALK-RELAY FOR HEALING IN AMERICA
October 16th - 23rd, 2016
This prayer represents the heart of this "suddenly" mission:
A Prayer for Healing & Reconciliation
ALMIGHTY GOD, have mercy on Your Church! Have mercy on America!
In this pivotal hour for the destiny of our nation, we cry out for Your mercy, that You would save us from ourselves. We acknowledge that in sinning against one another, we have sinned against You. (1) We long for the fruits of humility and repentance, yet our actions defy both. "Help us O Lord, for the godly are fast disappearing!" (2)
We segregate ourselves by common offense and call it unity. We prostitute ourselves by partisanship and call it righteousness. We blameothers for the state of our Union, when Your Word clearly says, "if My people...." All the while, we keep advancing our agendas, as a generation retreats from spiritual and civic engagement.
Forgive us O God; we have abdicated our profound responsibility--to be Your ambassadors of reconciliation in these polarizing times. We come before You now, desperate for a do-over. Teach us to walk afresh in Your humility and compassion. Keep us grounded in Your strength, as You strengthen us to find common ground with one another--not just on Election Day, but every day.
Re-unite these United States! Lord, You are good and Your mercy endures forever. (3) Have mercy on us and heal our land. AMEN.

P.S. We are not doing this because Charlotte is under siege. Quite the contrary... By the grace of God, the Church in Charlotte is rising up, and the city reflects it. Already, there is a post-tragedy peace pervading the streets. There's more to do, certainly...but it's not their tragedy we're prayerwalking to our nation's capital, it's their triumph!
To wit... The late EV Hill was a fiery preacher, a gentle soul and a precious friend of mine. The first time I met him, I asked him... "Brother EV, what is the Lord doing in the American Church?"
He thought about the question for a prolonged moment of silence, then in his infamous lyrical cadence, he replied... "Sin...is abounding. But I've come to find...wherever sin abounds...that GRACE...aboundeth all the more!" (From
