Dear Phil,
United prayer, across racial and denominational lines, is the most effective catalyst to community transformation.
At Somebody Cares prayer is foundational in all we do, be it in praying for victims of disasters, praying for those who contact us with needs, or praying at various outreaches around the country. Why? Because over the years Somebody Cares has seen the power of the unified Body of Christ praying and working together.

How Somebody Cares through Prayer |
Somebody Cares at the National Day of Prayer 2013:
The year's verse for the National Day of Prayer was "In His name the nations will put their hope" (Matt.12:21). I joined in praying for our nation at the Corpus Christi Mayor's Prayer Breakfast. It was an honor to speak about God's heart for their city and for the nation, and a great reminder that to see God move in our lives, we need to get back to caring for one another. Washing each other's hands and feet, upholding each other with love no matter the differences, makes all the difference in unifying a city and nation. It starts with being on our knees before God together. For He is our Hope in the midst of the difficulties and challenges!

Flood waters battering homes and communities on the Front Range of Colorado have already damaged 17, 994 homes and destroyed another 1,502; affecting tens of thousand of people.
Somebody Cares Denver has been assessing the situation to identify the best way to help them. Since the massive search and rescue operation is still underway and flood waters have not yet receded, recovery efforts have not yet begun. But they will be long and hard. With winter just around the corner, it is critical that families receive help quickly.
Somebody Cares will be directing available aid through partner churches and ministries as soon as flood waters recede so aid gets to these hurting families.
Flood victims need to know that Somebody Cares! So please give today!
