THE FUTURE OF THE FAITH AT WORK MOVEMENT
CONNECTIONS
The faith at work movement is far too disconnected. For example, similar to most local churches and denominations, workplace ministries tend to operate in separate silos, and often with parallel offerings.
Looking to the future, it’s a frontier in faith at work for all of us to build connection and collaboration for the common cause of Christ at work.
JOIN US at the 2025 XL Summit, where we’ll explore the opportunity of connections in depth. The future awaits!

From working in mass communications at a nuclear power plant, to decades in pastoral ministry, Jim Valekis’ desire to share the Gospel at work became a through line for how he approached his colleagues. Jim now works as a chaplain at Tipp Center in Tipp City, OH, and is launching SmilingIcon.com, a new ministry equipping others to become faith-active at work. Watch as Jim shares how a trip to a monastery in Greece led him to see that all believers can be “smiling icons,” or joy-filled image bearers, when we live and work in alignment with the Lord.

STEWARDING THE ROLE, NOT THE RESULTS
|
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” —1 Corinthians 3:7
In a world that equates value with achievements and tangible outcomes, it’s easy to pin our identity to career milestones, ministry success, or personal accolades (Matthew 6:19–21). Yet the Word of God offers a liberating reminder: we are accountable for the tasks He entrusts to us, but He alone is responsible for the ultimate results...

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES – KINGDOM STYLE
|
In my business consulting, the topic of standard operating procedures (SOPs) comes up often, particularly when exploring “best practices” for handling standardized workflow, current issues and emerging opportunities across organizations. In seeking operational standards, the truth of Scripture gives us a practical but often overlooked approach. For example, when solving relational conflicts, Ephesians 4:2-3 points to a direction – as followers of Christ, we are called to humility, gentleness, patience and camaraderie, “bearing with one another in love.” The Bible is filled with wisdom for establishing Kingdom standards in the ways we think and act; our job here is to translate from “stained glass” to “plain glass” so that God’s truth becomes accessible in a workplace that desperately needs it!

MIGUEL LOPEZ
|
Miguel Lopez was born in Mexico and, with his family, immigrated to the United Staes when he was one year old. His family settled in Cincinnati when he was two, and he has lived there ever since. As a teenager, Miguel studied to be a veterinary assistant, but his father’s dream of opening a restaurant changed that vision forever. He says “my dad came to me with an idea. He said that he knew of this family wanting to sell a restaurant.” Knowing that his father had over twenty years of restaurant experience, and that the family wanted to build this business together, Miquel and his family all pitched in and put a down payment on the building...
