This book is in my opinion, the most radical book I've read to date. A very young pastor of a hugh Megachurch, challenges us to "take back our faith from the American Dream". He challenges us to compare our American christianity to what Jesus taught. This book has the annointing of God Himself all through it. It's not an easy read, when it makes you look at the way we've been taught or we believe, in light of the very words of our Master. It has the potential to turn the western church upside down (or actually, right side up!), and I hope it does. You can not argue the points he makes, but you'll probably try. Then the last chapter is a radical experience, for one year to put to the test the 5 major points of the book; 1) pray for the entire world ( he highly recommends the Operation World book!!!) 2) read through the entire Word 3) sacrifice your money for a specific purpose 4) spend your time in another context 5) commit your life to a multiplying community. All 5 for one year. The 2 weeks it has taken me to get thru this book has already changed me, so without a question, a year will help transform us into the beautiful bride we are called to be. I personally hope every brother & sister in America will read this book. It's not easy, but well worth it!  If we're to be like Jesus! Always your brother in Christ, Marty

  • I agree with your comments on the book.  It was very convicting to me which I needed.  It is truly an book anointed by God.  This is a must read for all who are serious about their walk with God.  Phyllis
  • I agree!  A very close second is Richard Sterns book, The Hole in our Gospel.  Have you read David's second book, Radical Together?
    • I have it & it will be next! I can't wait! I'm reading another good one "Transforming Discipleship"  by Greg Ogden; which is another major failure of the western church! And there is another one, "Real Life Discipleship" by Jim Putman. which will be soon too.
