How about taking your prayer circle one step farther and reach out beyond your churches 4 walls.  God led me to start a group a couple of years back comprised of people from several churches within our city. When I began I had a pretty good grasp of the churches within our community that were bible believing and biblically solid. I called the selected church offices to ask them if they had a current prayer ministry, if not, I asked them if they could give me any names of those that had a heart for prayer.  Wouldn't you know it 9 times out of ten once I contacted them I found out that they had already been praying for their pastor:)  The group began to meet on a monthly basis, rotated from church to church and prayed for the pastor and specific church that held the mtg for that month.  It became such a powerful time of unity as we stretched our hearts towards heaven on behalf of another body of believers.  And it was really neat to visit other churches share resources and get to know some other christians within our own community.  UNITY is a very powerful tool to have handy on your prayer belt.  What are your thoughts?  Have you ever tried or thought to try something like this?

  • CIty-wide or community-wide prayer is powerful because it expresses better than any one congregation can the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Even though some pastors fear losing members over these groups, that almost never happens. Instead, their members return more enthused and loyal.
