My church uses several questions to reflect upon what God has said and/or shown during a prayerwalk.  When multiple people are prayerwalking the same area (at different times or at the same time), it has sometimes helped us discern what the Lord is doing there.  What is God saying to me?  What is God saying about this place?

The Questions

Describe any positive experience(s). [This does not have to be a "spiritual" answer. It could simply be a remark about good weather.]

Describe any negative experience(s). [Again, this does not have to be a "spiritual" answer.]

List any Scripture that came to mind.

Describe any images that came to mind.

The Lord prompted me to pray . . . [This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all the prayers lifted up.]

I heard God saying . . .

I'd like to know how others are debriefing/recording prayerwalks.

  • Katherine,

We are having an event on the lawn of our church called Rock the Community, it is leading into our VBS called Jesus the Rock. As prayer coordinator I wanted to pray for this event in a way the people in our church would respond to. So I am asking our pastor to ask our church to join him and myself to be "Silent Prayer-Walkers". We will just walk and pray as we attend the event, whether, serving food, watching children play in the bounce house, or listening to the music, and to pray as the Holy Spirit leads. I never thought about having a way for those SPW'ers to record how God worked in their lives. But now that the you have asked, I am anxious to see others response to your discussion, and to see how the Lords leads me to record His work.

    Thanks you

    Sherry

    • Sherry,

When I have been able to discuss with others what we prayed, it has been encouraging to hear when people who were praying separately prayed the same specific things or for the same people/places.  May the Lord lead your SPWs to see what He is doing and what He wants your church to do.

      Blessings,

      Katherine

  • To God be all the Glory.  I thank our Father in Heaven in the name of Jesus for the vision He placed in your heart for prayer and taking care of the phsyical man.  I pray that many will catch the vision and join you in Jesus Name
