October - Pastor Appreciation Month

  Giving the Gift of Prayer
 

The Apostle Paul modeled the life of a leader for us - he asked for prayer!  Leaders model a God-dependent life by asking for prayer.  Notice the impact of praying believers:

Elijah: “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Elijah… prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain… he prayed again, and the sky poured rain.”. James 5:16b-18

Corinthians: “And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers…“ 2 Corinthians 1:11

Epaphras: “Epaphras  .. always prays earnestly for you, asking God to make you strong and perfect, fully confident that you are following the whole will of God.” Colossians 4:12

During the month of October, Prayer Assist is encouraging you to give your pastors and ministry leaders the gift or prayer.

1. Send your pastor(s) a card, text, e-mail, etc. letting them know how much you care and appreciate them.

2. Make a video of your and/or your family praying for your pastor(s) and send it to them.  You can do it on your computer or smart phone.

Here's a sample scripture-based prayer.  Put your pastor or ministry leader's name in the blank:

I thank You, Father, that Your eyes are on ______ and Your ears are attentive to their prayers and Your face is against those who plot evil against _______ (1 Peter 3:12). I know that in all things You work for the good of ________ who loves You (Romans 8:28). Who can accuse ________who is daily interceded for by Christ Jesus? (Romans 8:33-34). In all things ______ is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him/her (Romans 8:37)

Pray, church pray - so that our God would make our pastors " strong and perfect, fully confident that you are following the whole will of God.” Colossians 4:12
