Living in a landlocked nation with few natural resources, the people of Paraguay fight a daily battle against poverty. Instead of studying or being able to attend school, many children are forced to work to help provide for their families. With literacy at a low functional rate, the issue of education and fighting poverty continues to consume their society.
Suffering from centuries of war and political dishonesty, Paraguay has recently elected a Catholic president who is using his power to fight and hold back corruption and poverty. Although Catholicism, the primary faith of Paraguay, is opposing political and social ills, many in the church remain in bondage to superstition and the occult, hindering true freedom in Christ.
In the history of Paraguay there has never been a true spiritual awakening. The church in Paraguay desperately needs leadership development, balance between Word and Spirit, and a God-given unity in order for an awakening to occur. We cry out with the believers in Paraguay for a revival that will sweep every corner of this nation, breaking the power of corruption and poverty and delivering Paraguay to God's greatest purposes and plan.
