Dear Great Lakes Sisters!
The Bible is full of “give-backs.” God forgives us, and we give back by forgiving others. God blesses us with good health or wealth, and we give back by helping those less fortunate. Through Moms in Prayer, God has taught me to pray. Stepping up to Regional Director is a most joy-filled “give back.” Everyone enjoys before and after pictures for fitness programs or remodeling projects. In most cases, companies choose the most improved person or room to sell their product. I must say, that fits me! I came to Moms in Prayer as a flabby, weak pray-er. Slowly, each year, I learned to leave everything in God’s hands through prayer. After hundreds of hours over a decade in Moms in Prayer groups, I have become a different woman. I long to see more schools and children blessed by more prayer. I long to see more women move closer to the Lord through more time in prayer. With God’s help, I will work to help moms in each of the Great Lake states to become women of prayer, impacting every school in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio for Jesus Christ by gathering women to pray. Please pray that I will be faithful in this work. May we all see God’s power this year as we pray together for our kids and schools! Please keep in touch.

Seven years ago when I was serving as an Area Coordinator, I asked my Moms in Prayer leaders in my area to choose one school near them that didn’t have a Moms in Prayer group and commit to praying for them one minute at the end of their Moms in Prayer hour. Brick by brick, week after week, those leaders built a “Wall of Prayer” around those schools—much as Nehemiah did in Jerusalem. How did we do this?
1 We began by surveying our Wall of Prayer, looking for the gaps of uncovered schools.
By night I went out … examining the walls of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire. Nehemiah 2:13
2 We acknowledged that God would be the One to help us rebuild the Wall of Prayer, filling in the gaps with new Moms in Prayer groups around our cities.
“The God of heaven will help us succeed. We, his servants, will start rebuilding this wall.” Nehemiah 2:20a
3 We stationed every Moms in Prayer group to stand in the gap for an uncovered school, committing to pray weekly for God to birth a new group.
Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. Nehemiah 4:13
4 Together with God’s help, we closed many gaps as we watched God build our Wall of Prayer by birthing new groups.
Today, I see more gaps as I view the whole state of Illinois. We currently have 5425 schools without groups! Only 7.66% are covered in prayer. God is calling us to be part of the birthing process for these schools. Prayer brings God’s purpose and power to earth. Only through prayer can this happen! John 3:6 tells us that flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

Heavenly Father,
We have work to do. We want to rebuild the Wall of Prayer around Illinois. We know that You will help us succeed as we start rebuilding this wall. May Your will be done and Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
